Do you ever find yourself dealing with lower back or leg pain that tingles, goes numb and is just outright annoying? You might be dealing with sciatica.

Sciatic pain happens when our sciatic nerve becomes pinched, irritated or inflamed. Sometimes, a slipped or herniated disc can be the culprit. Located in the lower back, the sciatic nerve runs down the leg, which can make the entire area painful during a flareup.

You might find relief with over the counter pain relievers or alternating hot and cold therapy, but that won’t correct the issue at its source.

If sciatic pain is a problem in your life, we’re here for you. Contact our practice today to restore balance to your nervous system and remove pressure from compressed nerves.

3 Ways to Improve Your Posture:
Having good posture isn’t just important for feeling confident, it’s actually a necessity for good health. If you find yourself slouching too much, here are a few ways you can improve your posture naturally.

1. Did you know our abdominal muscles play an important role in posture? When you stand, be conscious of pulling your stomach in—this will help you “straighten up.”

2. When you’re standing, stop and notice where you’re carrying your weight. Is it in the front or back of your feet? Shift your weight so that the majority is held on the ball of the foot.

3. Visit us. As spinal experts, we can help you strengthen weak muscles that may to be blame for bad posture and keep you properly aligned—all without the need for drugs or surgery.

If you suffer from regular episodes of back pain, you're not alone. You'll be glad to know, though, that chiropractic is an effective way to not only treat back pain, it's much more effective (and safer!) than medications. .

Pigeon Pose is extremely effective hip opener that addresses both area, with the front leg working in external rotation and the back leg in position to stretch the psoas.

This exercise reduces stiffness in the hips, back and shoulders. It also helps to lengthen hip flexors, improves posture and relieves lower back pressure.

If you get pain or discomfort whilst doing this exercise please stop and talk to your therapist for advice.

This is a great exercise to reduce back stiffness and help with flexibility!! Make sure to perform this exercise nice and slowly and contract your core and lower back to support your spine through the movement

07/02/2021

This exercise is a safe and effective way to strengthen and stabilize your core, spine and back muscles. This also improves your posture and helps relieve and prevent lower back pain.

If you get any pain or discomfort with this exercise please stop doing it and speak to your therapist for more advice.

A side plank is a great core strengthening exercise that recruits multiple muscle groups to help stabilise you while performing the exercise!

This exercise can be easily regressed (made easier) by going on your knees or progressed by either extending the time or slightly adapting the movement!

If you get any pain or discomfort from this exercise stop doing it and speak to your therapist for more advice

This is an classic core strengthening exercise than many brush past. You can slowly build this exercise up so it’s not all about who can hold it the longest!!!

𝐷𝑜 𝑦𝑜𝑢 ℎ𝑎𝑣𝑒 𝑙𝑜𝑤𝑒𝑟 𝑏𝑎𝑐𝑘 𝑜𝑟 𝑛𝑒𝑐𝑘 𝑝𝑎𝑖𝑛?

𝑂𝑟 ℎ𝑎𝑣𝑒 𝑠𝑙𝑢𝑚𝑝𝑒𝑑 𝑠ℎ𝑜𝑢𝑙𝑑𝑒𝑟𝑠 𝑤ℎ𝑒𝑛 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑠𝑖𝑡 𝑜𝑟 𝑠𝑡𝑎𝑛𝑑?

If your answer is yes ro any of these, you may have poor thoracic spine mobility. The thoracic spine often loses mobility in populations that are more sedentary.
If the thoracic spine is immobile, the lumbar spine will pick up the slack and compensate for the lack of movement in the thoracic spine. This can lead to low back pain and fatigue.
The thoracic spine also plays an important role in assisting with the movement of the neck. It contributes 33% of neck flexion and 21% of neck rotation. Therefore lack of thoracic movement can contribute to neck pain.

Often spending all day sitting causes office workers to hunch forward and sit with flexed upper back and anterior head carriage. Sitting in hunched over position for several hours per day can reduce mobility in the thoracic spine.

So here are some of the thoracic mobility exercises that you can carry out at home. The benefits of thoracic spine mobility exercises are:
