Just 1 week post-trigger finger release surgery and already seeing dramatic pain reduction! 🙌

As Occupational Therapists, our rehab programs offer a graded, holistic approach. Most hand therapy begins long before you even think about picking up a dumbbell.

We address the psychological impact of injury, the impact its had on you and your life.

Function comes first so thats light-weight tasks, fine motor control, manual manipulation, and gentle everyday task practice. These are essential building blocks.

🦴 Broken wrist? You’re not alone.
A / wrist is one of the most common fractures, affecting people of all ages, from kids in sports to adults after a simple fall.

✨ Good news: recovery doesn’t have to wait until the cast comes off.
🤲 Hand therapy and early intervention can begin even while you’re in a cast. Although the wrist itself may be immobilised, we use specialised techniques to:
• minimise stiffness and swelling
• protect surrounding joints and muscles
• keep tendons and soft tissues moving
• reduce the impact of immobilisation
• set the foundation for faster, smoother recovery

🧠 Early rehab focuses on the soft tissues, because healing isn’t just about the bone. Starting early can help you regain movement, strength, and function sooner once the cast is removed.

📈 The earlier you start, the better prepared your wrist is to recover.

From Breaking Point to Recovery: Prioritising Musculoskeletal Healthcare in Northern Ireland

What a motivational and inspiring day spent at Stormont for the launch of the new Arthritis UK report on Prioritising MSK Health Care in Northern Ireland.

We were delighted to have our voices heard and contribute to the report by sharing our professional views on how MSK healthcare should be improved in Northern Ireland, to better serve its citizens.

The evidence is clear: we must act now to support the thousands living with musculoskeletal conditions.

Arthritis UK's landmark report, calls for immediate action to tackle the growing musculoskeletal (MSK) health crisis in Northern Ireland.

The report sets out four urgent calls to action:
• Establish a strategic approach to MSK healthcare.
• Improve care pathways and diagnosis.
• Transform waiting times, patient support and communication.
• Increase public awareness of MSK health and patient education.

It was fantastic networking with so many passionate colleagues, stakeholders and the people that are directly impacted but the services we provide. The energy in the room was palpable—now let’s turn this planning into delivery! 🤝

Amazing results for our patients following Dupuytren’s release surgery. Their perseverance with their personalised hand therapy programs has really paid off. They still have a lottle way to go but both patients are now back to doing all of their daily tasks without pain or difficulty — well done! 👏

Skier’s thumb is a common injury caused by a fall onto an outstretched hand, damaging the ulnar collateral ligament of the thumb. It can lead to pain, swelling, weakness, and difficulty gripping or pinching.
