Formed in 2016, Chilli Mash Company Ltd, was created through a partnership between 2 chilli sauce companies. Based in Hampshire, it aspires to be the largest independent UK based chilli mash, puree and ferment producer.
Alongside the production of ferments and purees, Chilli Mash Company is the manufacturing partner to a number of chilli sauce producers, kimchi makers and condiment businesses. Condiment production In 2017 Chilli Mash Company opened a brand new kitchen with state of the art facilities at it’s factory in Portsmouth, UK. With heavily upgraded machinery it is now ideally placed to produce volumes of up to 1 tonne per day. In 2018 an extension was added to the kitchen to allow for the production of cold fill and refrigerated products.

Our Mash We use only three ingredients in our finished mash; chillies, salt and vinegar. Our chillies are sourced from a reputable and ethical growers with full traceability. They are grown in Senegal, Spain and West Sussex. Because we oversee the growing of our own chillies, they are absolutely top quality. The salt is a pure unadulterated sea salt from the Atlantic ocean that we source from a UK supplier. There’s no iodine or anti caking agents. The vinegar we use is from an established Hampshire (UK) based producer. It’s a top quality cider vinegar with no sulphites or additives. It's fruity and flavourful, no harsh acids here. The Mash Process We barrel ferment our chillies in the UK. It’s a very traditional method that we have honed over four years. Following anything from a 1 to 24 month fermentation period we heat treat and pack into jerry cans or buckets. Heat treated mash then has a further 18 month shelf life unopened, and 6 months following opening. Why choose us? - We are the only company that is producing chilli mash in the UK at any scale. - Our products are all made in-house by ourselves. We are not an intermediary. - We only use the best quality, fully traceable ingredients with an ethical supply chain. - We use no additives, thickening agents or allergens. Simply chilli, vinegar and salt. - Our salt concentrations for our finished products are lower than our competitors. - We believe our products are hotter than our competitors weight for weight. You will need to use less volume. - We can provide in relatively small unit sizes. Down to 1 litre. - We are able to make bespoke mashes on request (These bespoke products can contain any ingredient not just chilli - let your imagination run wild!) - As sauce producers ourselves can advise on how best to use the mash in creating your products. We can also provide manufacturing services to you using our mashes to create your delicious products.
