Client Transformation 😍

Ruth first came to see me last year, after struggling with her skin since her late teens.

Acne, rosacea and then perioral dermatitis. She’d spent years trying to find a solution. On and off courses of prescription medication and topical steroid creams.

You can see in the before photo how thickened and compromised her skin barrier is, it was rough, textured and severally dehydrated.

There was a lot of congestion trapped under the skin.

It was sensitive and reactive.

This was not going to be an overnight fix.

Firstly the sticky plaster of steroid creams had to go even though this was the only thing she felt made a difference it wasn’t treating the root cause of her issues.

Whilst she’s weaned off of this we introduced just 2 products. A hydrating, soothing and barrier supporting cleanser and a SOS Super Moisturiser. This was to rebuild and balance her skin barrier.

After the first few weeks when I felt her skin was ready we then introduced the lowest level of Vitamin A (which also includes Vitamin C & Antioxidants) and she’s slowly climbed up to the next 2 levels.

Then once I felt her skin was ready we introduced monthly Vitamin Infusion Facials and finally are now finishing these with the LED Light Therapy.

This hasn’t been a straight journey because her skin had to overcome that security blanket of steroids creams, the congestion she had under her skin is still purging.

But when you look closely under the skin concerns we are still working on her skin is healthy, strong and glowing.

We are now on the home straight!

When I saw her last week I’d put together her before and after photos and she said she’d also been looking at photos from last summer and was so happy the redness has claimed massively, her skin no longer reacts and she feels like she’s finally getting control back.

She also said how helpful it had been to have the regular check ins with me, the expert guidance and someone to keep her accountable when at times she didn’t think it was working.

But I knew it was, I trusted our process 🥰

The focus after 40 should always be a healthy skin barrier, hydration and protection first.

And in order to do this a gentle, simple approach is needed.

Double cleansing always - an oil or balm first a lotion or foam second. Nothing highly fragranced or stripping to the skin.

You don’t need extra devices to cleanse your skin, just your hands and set a timer for 60 seconds - honestly the difference this makes to the health of the skin and appearance of pores/blackeads!
Exfoliation is key but use gentle acid based exfoliants and build in slowly.

You want Dermaplaning then book to have it done professionally.

You want colour to your face then use a tinted SPF because you’ll get the colour but also the care.

And the pore strips may remove the odd blackhead but what they are actually removing more of is your sebaceous filaments which are a key structure of your skin. Strand like structures that are responsible for transporting sebum to the surface of the skin. Deep cleansing and exfoliating will keep these looking clean and less obvious. You shouldn’t really be removing them. It will confuse your skin whilst compromising your skin barrier.

Let me know if you have any questions on these or if you’d like to know what to use instead 👇🏼

Retinol is one of the best ingredients you can use for long term skin health, but only when introduced correctly.

I see so many women damage their barrier because they were told to ‘start strong’

The secret isn’t the highest strength.
It’s the smartest introduction.

Start low.
Go slow.
Support your skin barrier.
Be consistent.

That’s how you get the glow without damaging your skin barrier.

Even though I was pulling my hair out working with amateurs 🤣 I love this reel of the most special girls in the world to me ❤️

Skipped a day of wearing my uniform or gym gear for a day out with my little girl 👧🏼

Mocktails and burgers for 2 please 😋

An evening of bowling and she got her first ever strike 🙌🏼

The start of the year of the horse has been welcomed, I’ve done so much work to prepare for this. I don’t talk about this much but I am very spiritual 🪽

Love this quote about August babies shared on the same day the year started 🦁

A little reminder to see in yourself what others see 👀

Topping up on my favourite deodorant, I’d like to say it was on my one weekly shop but come on mums we purposely forget a few things so we have to visit the supermarket at least 4 times a week right? 🙃

Had my PAT testing done for the year and deep cleaned and organised my treatment room. It feels so fresh now

Flights booked for Palma for my friend’s 50th. She’s hoping to find a man with a yaught whilst we are there so any tips lemme know 👇🏼 🤣

Even with the juggle of half term and work I still got all my gym sessions in albeit at different times everyday but we move 💪🏼

Tea time walks to get my face 🥥

Squeezed in a facial for myself between clients and woke up to the glowiest skin ✨

The best present from the best friend 🥰

Izzy at the salon makes the best Latte’s I need to remember how to work the machine, or do I?? 🤔

Not long back from an 11k run, it was such a beautiful day the run itself not so much but to say I couldn’t even walk 6 weeks ago I’m honestly so grateful to be where I am 🏃🏻‍♀️

I also had to use this audio as my mum loves Kate Bush and I’m instantly transported back to my childhood listening to it ❤️

I hope you had a beautiful week and weekend. I’m all set for a restful evening to start again tomorrow.

My absolute must have’s for healthy, ageing skin that glows at 41 ✨

Environ Youth Essentia Cleanser. Like absolute silk on the skin, cleansing, hydrating, barrier supporting and improves signs of ageing.

I very rarely wear make up these days but if I do I also use their oil cleanser when I’m double cleansing in an evening.

Clean Skin Club Towels because when you’ve got clean skin you don’t want a dirty hand towel or crusty flannel drying it.

Face washing wristbands. Are they essential? Nope but an absolute game changer, who wants wet arms or floor when doing skincare?

Youth Essentia Eye Gel. The only eye cream I’ve used that actually makes a difference. Hydrating, strengthening for the delicate skin around the eyes, peptide rich to stimulate collagen, hyaluronic acid to hydrate and plump and an ingredient that works like botox to relax facial muscles and improve wrinkles over time.

Environ AVST 5 Moisturiser. The top level in their Vitamin A step up system. Vitamin A strengthens the skin barrier and improves all skin functions. It’s also got Vitamin C for colour, collagen and clarity and antioxidant protection.

Environ Gold Microneedling Roller. I use this nightly to create micro holes in the very surface of my skin to increase product absorption.

Colorscience Flex SPF in Medium. Great coverage, great skincare, great SPF. The tint also helps protect against blue light too.

Dermalux LED OMG can’t say enough about this machine. The results I’m seeing for myself and my clients 🤩 I use it once a week to stimulate collagen and healthy skin cell renewal.

Advanced Nutrition Skin Integrate 28 - to support gut>skin health. Pre,pro & post biotics, 28 plants, vitamin c and zinc.

Advanced Nutrition Collagen Support. No real science behind collagen supplements working for your skin so I choose to eat a high protein diet and add the vitamins to support my bodies natural process of turning this protein into collagen.

Which one are you most curious about? Tell me below 👇🏼 and I’ll share more.

Consistency is where results live ✨

But the problem I see all the time is you’re not been consistent because,

You’re not sure what to be using

You’re not seeing results quick enough

You get drawn into new products that promise the world and achieve nothing

Skincare has become overwhelming

You’re too busy

Sound familiar?

Helen came to me with a bag full of skincare but not getting the results she was looking for, in fact her skin was compromised, dry, dehydrated, reactive, breaking out and looking older than it should. She’d lost her glow.

She had facials but occasionally because life happens.

She didn’t feel confident or consistent in her approach to her skin.

She’d decided it was time to invest her time, money and effort in something that was actually going to work without her even thinking about it.

That’s where I came in.

Through an in depth consultation we discovered why her skin was the way it was, which of the products were right and wrong, what to add in instead and what other habits across diet, nutrition and lifestyle could help.

We kept it to a super simple skincare routine she could follow at home, we scheduled her monthly facial appointments so she wouldn’t let life get in the way of booking.

Within 3 months we were seeing incredible results.

Her skin was calmer, more hydrated and less reactive. As the months continued she got her glow back.

Now it’s about continuing to build and maintain these results.

Helen’s story is the exact reason I created ‘That Healthy Skin Club’

And this post shares how I support her as a member of this club on her monthly visits.

Following an in depth consultation we’ll create a routine that fits seamlessly into your life, ensuring you stay consistent and see real lasting results.

No more guess work, no more excuses, no more being at the bottom of your priority list, just effortless consistency, expert guidance and the calm, healthy, ageing skin you’ve always wanted.

It’s time to prioritise YOU

Take back control of YOUR skin goals

And that journey starts here
