TO THE WOMAN WHO IS SLOWLY FADING AWAY...

To the woman who has lost her spark.
To the woman whose get up and go, has well and truly gone.
This is for you.
This is to remind you whose daughter you are.
This is to remind you, that you don’t have to be everything to everyone, every day.
You didn’t sign up for that.
Remember when you used to laugh? Sing? Throw caution to the wind?
Remember when you used to forgive yourself more quickly for not always being perfect.
You can get that back again.
You really can.
And that doesn’t have to mean letting people down or walking away.
It just means being kinder to you, feeling brave enough to say no sometimes.
Being brave enough to stop sometimes.
And rest.
It starts the moment you realise that you’re not quite who you used to be.
Some of that is good, some of that is not.
There are parts of you that need to be brought back.
And if anyone in your life is not okay with that... they are not your people.
Your people will be glad to see that spark starting to light up again.
So, if you have been slowly fading away my friend, this is the time to start saying yes to things that bring you joy and no to things that don’t.
It’s really pretty simple.

Counselling online has increased as a result of Coronovirus, due to social distancing for all our safety. You may question how can a therapeutic relationship be built through a screen? The answer simply, is it can and it does.

André Wheeler cringed at the idea of connecting through a camera but he needed to clear the fog inside his head

How many times have you been asked " what's the matter with you?" instead of "what matters to you?" Do you always feel things are your fault, saying " I should do better". Using a Person Centred approach I see you as a person individual and unique. In a confidential non judgemental safe space, where you are seen and heard, we will explore your desire for change and "what matters to you".

If your thinking "this is me" and have been considering seeking support, I urge you to take the first small step and get in touch on 07402 268923.

In light of the current crisis regarding COVID-19, we are faced with a lot of uncertainty. We are bombarded with a lot of information about how to care for ourselves and our loved ones. Hand hygiene, social distancing, and advice of how to decrease the spread of COVID-19 on every news channel. All of this information is essential, however it fails to address a significant aspect of health we each face, our mental health. Face to face counselling is not the only option to get help. In fact, telephone counselling has been shown to be just as effective as face to face counselling.

As social beings, it is important for us to maintain contact and connection. However, advice has stated that social distancing is necessary to minimize the spread of COVID-19. Social distancing can cause feelings of isolation, loneliness, anxiety, and symptoms of depression. It is extremely important to me that all my clients and potential clients continue to receive support during this outbreak. There are many benefits to telephone counselling, you can talk to a therapist in the comfort of your own home. Telephone counselling can also be useful if you wish to retain a degree of anonymity, if you wish to discuss anything that you fear would embarrass you if addressed face to face. I offer appointments during the day, evenings and weekends. Telephone counselling is appropriate for any age.

I am a fully qualified Integrative counsellor and registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
If you need any support please get in touch.

Self love is an appreciation for oneself that flourishes from things we do that support psychological and physical growth. Self love is powerful. It shows ourself compassion to accept our weakness and strengths in a life that can be difficult to navigate. We extend compassion to others why not to ourselves?
