I'm Jayne and for over 20 years I've been teaching practical, down-to- earth yoga in Burbage, Leicestershire. It's about feeling more at home in your body. We move slowly, breathe deeply and give your nervous system a chance to exhale. The gentle, rhythmic movement and simple breathing practices help your body unwind and your mind settle. Expect a warm, light-hearted approach. It's not fancy yoga. It's feel-better-in-your-body yoga. If you want to feel calmer, move more freely, and sleep better, you’re in the right place. You don't need special clothes, just something that feels comfortable with freedom to move. Shanti simply means 'peace'. Welcome to a calm and restful space in a frantic, technology-driven world.

The long-held belief that personality becomes “set in stone” after young adulthood is being challenged by new research. A comprehensive psychological study has found that older adults (ages 60–80) are just as capable of adopting new social and emotional behaviours as those in their twenties...the older group demonstrated even higher levels of engagement and commitment to the training, suggesting that motivation—not age—is the primary driver of personality growth later in life.

A new study shows that older adults can successfully change personality traits and socio-emotional skills through targeted intervention.

Relaxing your eyes can be a strange idea. It's the difference between a Paddington hard stare where laser focused eyes could burn through walls and a soft, relaxed gaze as you look at a faraway landscape.
