Good Morning -
National Obesity Awareness Week
10th - 16th January 2026
Yes, it falls just after Christmas - and no, that’s not lost on us. But National Obesity Awareness Week isn’t about guilt or regret. It’s about awareness, education, and practical support to help people live healthier, more balanced lives.
Obesity is a growing health concern in the UK. Around 1 in 4 adults are living with obesity, with rates increasing as we age. It’s linked to serious health conditions including type 2 diabetes, heart disease, joint problems and poor mental health - but the good news is that even small, supported changes can make a big difference.
Understanding obesity
Obesity is commonly measured using BMI (Body Mass Index), which compares your height and weight. A BMI of 30 or above places someone in the obese category. While BMI isn’t perfect, it’s a useful starting point for understanding health risks.
Obesity isn’t just about willpower or food choices. It can be influenced by hormones, genetics, life stages such as menopause, stress, sleep, mental health and lifestyle habits.
How The 1:1 Diet can help
The 1:1 Diet is about more than weight loss - it’s about resetting habits, improving health and building confidence.
✅ Structured Steps to suit your lifestyle
✅ Nutritionally complete products to support safe weight loss
✅ Education around healthier food choices
✅ Ongoing 1:1 support - because you don’t have to do this alone
By following the Steps Plan, clients not only lose weight but also learn how to stabilise and maintain their results long term.
Small steps, real change
Alongside nutrition, gentle movement, understanding emotional eating triggers, and prioritising sleep and wellbeing all play a role. This week is about starting conversations, reducing stigma, and reminding people that support works.
