Hawthorn, in full bloom at Beltane.

“Ne’er cast a clout till May is out.”
Wait for the hawthorn to flower before shedding your layers.

A tree of edges. Of boundaries. Of the fae.

Taken with care, it becomes medicine.

Leaf and flower support the heart, steady the pulse, and soften tension over time.

Beltane blessings to you. 💚🌿

Part 1. Dandelion infused oil🌼💛

Fresh flowers, slowly dried, now resting in almond oil. This is the first step toward a balm for tight, sore areas.

Dandelion, Taraxacum officinale, is a hardy perennial from the daisy family. Each yellow head holds hundreds of tiny florets, opening with the sun and closing at dusk. It sends a deep taproot into the soil and releases a milky sap when cut.

The flowers contain bitter compounds, flavonoids, and triterpenes. In oil, they create a gentle preparation for the skin. Traditionally used over areas that feel tense or stiff, and around the chest and breast tissue where there is tenderness or stagnation.

Folk use links dandelion with the sun, resilience, and renewal. It grows where other plants struggle, pushing through compacted ground and poor soil. That pattern shaped its place in seasonal practices and simple rituals like blowing the seed head to set an intention.

If this kind of rooted work and making plant based remedies interests you, we will be making similar preparations at our Solstice gathering on 21st June Base Camp Education in Hinckley ☀️

Part 2 will turn this into a balm you can actually use.

It’s really easy to let the summer pass and realise you didn’t actually do anything different.

This is your chance to change that.

The Solstice gathering is a small, relaxed day outdoors where you can step away from routine and spend time in nature, making, learning and just being.

It’s not about being into anything specific, just about:

• getting outside
• doing something with your hands
• sharing good food and space
• marking the longest day in a simple way

If you’ve been thinking about it, message me and I can hold you a place.
