The UK Health Security Agency has issued a heat health alert for the East Midlands. The alert is currently in place until 5pm on Wednesday 27 May.

If current forecasted temperatures are reached it is important to remember that vulnerable people in the community may struggle to cope in the heat.

Therefore, the local NHS is reminding people to look out for older people, people with long-term health conditions and young children who may find it more difficult to stay cool and hydrated in hot weather.

🟠⚠ Amber heat-health alerts have been issued to the health systems across central England until Wednesday 27 May, with yellow alerts covering the rest of the country.
While hot weather may be welcome for some, it can still have a serious impact on people’s health and wellbeing. Early warnings help those in health and social care, as well as anyone supporting more vulnerable individuals, such as older adults and young children, to prepare and take appropriate action.

The Armed Forces Cardiovascular Collaborative (AFCC) is a new initiative to bring together researchers, clinicians, and people from the Armed Forces community to improve heart health. This includes sharing experiences, ideas and learning through regular online and in-person engagement sessions.

📣 From the 11th May the appointment and admin requests will be changing for all non urgent medical and admin requests the team will be advising this will need to be made online for those that have online access
✅ This helps to ensure that urgent same day care is being prioritised

✅Patients can be directed to the most appropriate clinician or service
✅Patients can choose a date and time that is more convenient using the self booking links
