😉💫 Here’s why the Supported Side Plank Thread-Through is a powerhouse move for building strength postpartum!

💪 After pregnancy and childbirth, it’s important to recognise that your core and abdominal muscles have gone through so much, and rebuilding that strength from the inside out is key.

This move is a great way to gauge your progress - it definitely gets those oblique core muscles!

It’s totally normal for the first few to feel wobbly!

But stick with it, and in a few weeks or months, you’ll feel stronger than ever. 🧘‍♀️✨

✨ Mums & Baby Postnatal Yoga & Fitness – NOVEMBER CLASSES AVAILABLE TO BOOK NOW!✨

- Come and join our friendly postnatal yoga group on Thursdays, 11:30–12:30pm at The Millennium Hall, Burbage.

These classes are designed especially for mums, helping you to regain strength, support your body after birth, and move with more ease and confidence. It’s a gentle way to reconnect with yourself while your little one is happily alongside you 💕.

No need to bring a thing – yoga mats, equipment, baby bouncers and playmats are all provided.

🌿 Upcoming 5 week block is now open to book:
• 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th November & 4th December - £45

• If you can’t make the whole block, pay-as-you-go places are also available - £10

💫 When you can start:
• From 6 weeks after birth
• 6–8 weeks if you’ve had an episiotomy
• 10 weeks after a caesarean or 3rd/4th degree tear

Hey postnatal mums….Do you get this?

Hey postnatal moms, let’s talk about the correlation between achy backs and weak core muscles, often linked to diastasis recti.

During pregnancy, your tummy expands, creating a very stretched core cavity, meaning it becomes weaker. After childbirth, this can lead to weakened core muscles, causing back discomfort.

Around 96% of women experience diastasis recti (core separation) and even more of us need to work with a weakened core gently…..because if you think about what our body’s have been through, it all makes sense!!

But fear not, awareness is key!

By addressing diastasis recti and a weaker inner core strength through targeted exercises, breathing correctly and focusing on your posture, you can strengthen your core and alleviate back pain.

Remember, it’s not about bouncing back - I don’t know anyone who’s done this straight away!!! - for me it’s about rebuilding your strength, in your new body, from the inside out.

I highly recommend you work with a postnatal fitness/yoga expert for personalised guidance and a focus of safe, gentle and the right strengthening exercises that build stability and strength back in your body!.
