As Mental Health Awareness Week came to a close yesterday, we're reminded that taking care of our mental wellbeing is just as important as our physical health β€” and small steps can make a big difference.

Last week, our Senior Leadership Team laced up their trainers and went out for a "Walk and Talk" - not just to take a break from a planning day and to enjoy the nice weather, but to open up conversations about mental health, support each other, and lead by example.

πŸšΆβ€β™€οΈπŸ’¬ Walking and talking is a powerful way to connect, decompress, and make space for the important conversations we all need sometimes.

At Everyone Health, we're committed to breaking down the stigma around mental health and creating a culture where talking is encouraged, and support is always available.

Let's keep the momentum going β€” one step, one chat, and one act of kindness at a time. πŸ’š

πŸšΆβ€β™€οΈ May is National Walking Month! πŸšΆβ€β™‚οΈ
At Everyone Health, we are celebrating the simple power of walking. Just 20–30 minutes a day can boost your mood, improve your fitness, and support your wellbeing. Whether it’s a stroll in the park or a brisk walk to work, or attending one of our weekly health walks every step counts!
πŸ‘Ÿ Let’s get moving together β€” your health starts with one step.

🚨 13,202 health checks, 10,902 participants, and 2,900 GP call-to-actions in just 6 months! 🚨

In October 2024, the Everyone Health Cambridgeshire and Peterborough contract, Healthy You, launched a workplace-based CVD Prevention Pilot with Department of Health and Social Care. The aim was to reach people who often fall through the gaps in healthcare – such as those in routine and manual sectors, and communities facing higher levels of deprivation.

Delivered in partnership with SiSU Health UK using their Health Stations, Cambridgeshire County Council and Peterborough City Council, alongside our NHS Health Checks, this project brought rapid, accessible health checks directly into the places people work. In areas where attending a GP can be difficult or delayed, our approach improved access, early risk detection, and gave people health ownership.

πŸ’Ό 56 workplace locations
βš–οΈ Majority in high-deprivation postcodes
⏱️ 4–5 minute self-checks using SiSU kiosks
πŸ“² Instant results + app access
πŸ“ˆ 67.5% of users were overweight or obese
πŸ“ž 2,900 GP call-to-actions triggered

Whether through a 5-minute self-check or a full NHS Health Check, we're proud to have empowered thousands of people to take action to improve their health. Thank you to the incredible employers, staff, delivery teams, and the brilliant team at SiSU Health who made this possible.

Last week, Ellie, Kathryn, Lisa and Emma attended the University College London (UCL) Behaviour Change Conference at the NOVA Centre for Public Health in Lisbon and did a fantastic job!. With over 400 delegates from across the world, it was a thought-provoking (yet rainy!) couple of days hearing talks around behavioural science and projects.

We led a symposium: β€˜Using COM-B to engage vulnerable groups with sustainable health improvement programmes – knowledge in practise’. We talked about some exciting projects in relation to our integrated COM-B approach to supporting the most vulnerable people in the community.

⭐ Ellie talked about the CVD Workplace Health Checks Project she has been leading across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough as part of Healthy You. With over 12,000 health checks completed so far – she spoke about some of the capabilities, opportunities and motivations that has made this project a success.

⭐ Kathryn talked about the Breastfeeding Buddy Peer Support service in and the impact it has on reaching hard to reach families who are less likely to breastfeed for various reasons. With the main focus on how we use a behaviour change model like COM-B to support our families

⭐ Lisa talked about the COM-B model-based weight management service for people with Serious Mental Illness that she has been leading across Staffordshire and how the lives of its participants have been changed by enabling them to make impactful changes to maintain healthier lifestyles.

A special thank you to Professor Robert West for leading insightful keynote about the role of communications in changing behaviours, as well as all the other great keynote speakers!

🌱🌍 Exciting News from Everyone Health! 🌍🌱

We’re thrilled to share that we’ve taken a huge step towards sustainability! 🌿 To offset our 100-tonne carbon footprint, we’ve partnered with an amazing initiative with Make it Wild to plant 28 trees! 🌳

These trees will help absorb CO2, provide habitats for wildlife, and contribute to the overall health of our planet. πŸŒŽπŸ’š At Everyone Health, we’re committed to reducing our environmental impact and creating a healthier future for everyone.

"Make it Wild are delighted to be able to partner with Everyone Health, to support their sustainability goals. Their contribution towards our nature restoration work will make a tangible difference to the biodiversity in the vicinity of our projects. It will also help more generally, to spread the important message of the increased need for wildlife conservation here in the UK.”

Here’s to doing our part, one tree at a time! 🌱 Let’s continue working together to protect the planet for generations to come. 🌍✨
