Feeling tired isn't the problem. Feeling like you’re not allowed to be tired is.
Burnout isn’t about being weak or ungrateful.
It’s about a nervous system that’s been stuck in survival mode for far too long.
We’ve been sold the lie that rest is earned. That calm is lazy. That success must cost your sanity.
But here’s what I know after working with countless high-performing women:

Confidence is a skill you build, but it does ebb and flow, especially when you're pushing yourself beyond your comfort zone and trying new things. Of course, there are ways to 'manage' that building of confidence in a chaotic world.

Confidence can be built through the things you do and through the feedback you will get from those around you, whether family, professionals, community, or support. Belief creates confidence, too.

I also don't think you necessarily have confidence in everything you do. It's similar to resilience. Over time, you can develop yourself to be equipped with these traits.

So, I ask YOU: What does your lack of confidence prevent you from doing? Maybe it's speaking up at meetings, pursuing a promotion, or making a career shift.

** Confidence can be acquired, developed, encouraged, and appreciated. However, I think you need to be in the correct frame of mind first, or it doesn't matter how confident you feel.

Once upon a time, I believed that if I just worked harder, smiled wider, and carried everyone else’s baggage like some overachieving bellhop…
…I’d finally feel like enough.

Spoiler alert:
It didn’t work.

Turns out, doing what others won’t isn’t about hustling yourself into an early grave.

It’s about waking up one day and saying:
“Actually, no thanks. I’m done chasing/fighting for a life that doesn’t fit.”

✨ Today, I’ll do what others won’t:
Toss the guilt in the bin.

Stop pretending exhaustion is a personality trait.

🌿 Why Emotional Exhaustion Isn’t in Your Head 🌿
Meet Martha.
From the outside, she looked like she had everything: a stable home, successful parents, a life that seemed “fine.”
But behind closed doors?
Her mother drank.
Her father disappeared into work.
Perfection mattered more than connection.

By ten, Martha was the caretaker, keeping the house presentable and ensuring no one knew how fragile it all was.
As an adult, she became the achiever, the high-functioning one, the person who always kept it together.
But inside?
She was exhausted in ways she couldn’t explain.
Every small failure felt dangerous.
Every moment of rest felt undeserved.

💡 Here’s what most people don’t realise:
Your nervous system doesn’t “let go” of the past just because you grew up.
It keeps scanning for danger.
It keeps bracing for impact.
And no amount of mindset work can override a body that still feels unsafe.

She is a Registered Nurse, has a Masters in Psychology, Clinical Hypnosis Degree, Qualified in Systemic Coaching, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Master Practitioner in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) and Reiki.

Andrea’s journey was not plain sailing!

She had to move countries from UK to New Zealand and back to the UK, in less than a year, after a divorce. Being a single parent was fraught with many challenges and building resilience was the only way to overcome her struggles.
