Avocado oil is a healthy fat that contains oleic acid. It’s a monosaturated fat which helps sens satiety signals to the brain that REDUCE HUNGER.

💜What’s so important about having protein in our diet during menopause? 💜

Protein acts as the building blocks of your body to help create bones, muscles, cartilage, hair, nails and skin. 💁‍♀️

As levels of oestrogen decrease in our bodies during menopause, this can lead to a reduction in bone density and muscle mass.

Protein contains amino acids that are essential for repairing tissue. They can help fuel our body, support our muscle strength, increase feelings of fullness, and help support metabolism. 💪

It’s important to supply our bodies with this essential nutrient for maintaining good health and feeling our best. 🙌

How much protein do we need?

Our bodies do not store protein so current guidelines recommend that women over the age of 50 eat around 20-25 grams of quality protein with every meal.

About 18 months ago, I switched my breakfast from coffee and porridge (which wasn’t helping my menopause symptoms at all! 😂) to a protein smoothie. 🍓

It is filling and nutritious, helps keep my blood sugar levels steady and stops me reaching for snacks or sugary foods as a temporary energy boost.

I love it!! My fave recommended is Arbonne Protein Shake Vanilla flavour which is packed with 24g of vegan protein with 9 essential amino acids, carbs for energy, and healthy fats 🤩

Daily affirmations.. What are they? Can they help?

Affirmations are positive statements that motivate, inspire and encourage us to take action to realise our goals or to simply install belief in ourselves.

Can they help?

I truly believe they do. I have been going through a tough patch last year and factor in menopause and the lack of confidence, self belief and anxiety that this can bring, I decided to try.

Mine are totally based on boosting my belief in myself but you can make them to suit yourself. Try googling for inspiration!

I say them out loud (quite scary to do that!) or in my head. Do I believe them all yet?? No!! But I am working on it… 😁

🍓Strawberry & Basil Smoothie🌿

Ingredients:
• 2 scoops Arbonne Vanilla Protein Shake
* 300 ml unsweetened almond milk
* 5 large strawberries, halved
* 3 fresh basil leaves
* Ice (if wanted)

Instructions:
Combine all ingredients into a blender and blend well.

So simple! So delicious!

Top Tip: Try frozen strawberries or frozen strawberry and banana mix if it’s not strawberry season 😊
