“Claire hosted a wonderful retreat day at The Granary. Her warm welcome, the beautiful ambience created with candles, flowers and relaxing music set the scene. The yoga practice is thoughtful and accessible to all. I love the poetry and verses she chooses to share too.”

‘When your world moves too fast and you lose yourself in the chaos
introduce yourself to the colours of the sunset’
Christy Ann Martine
This time is beyond what we are supposed to be able to handle.
This is how I help myself cope (appreciating what a privilege it is to be able to do this, and at the same time knowing it is vital to be able to pay attention long term from where I am) and I am sharing in case any of this inspires you for your next morning 🙏✨💖
Massaged the soles of my feet before bed 🧡
Went to bed with mouth tape 🧡
Woke early enough to look after myself before work 🧡
Moved (yoga, very gentle this morning) and then took a guided meditation 🧡
Ate breakfast 🧡
Didn’t look at my phone until I had done all of this 🧡
Promised myself a moment in nature today 🧡
Looked at social media more mindfully, and actively searched who I wanted to read rather than scroll 🧡

Our summer term of Yoga at Ickleford Village hall begins this Saturday, April 11th.
You can choose to book a pass for the whole 8 week term, or choose to book individual classes that you can make.
The 8 week term Saturday dates are:
11th & 18th April
9th & 16th May
6th & 20th June
4th & 11th July
The summer term pass costs £80, or the drop in rate is £14 per class.
(please only choose the term pass if you can make all of the dates as these are not transferrable to the following term.)
If you have already practice yoga you will probably know and value the potency of this practice, and you are very welcome. Not just for a great physical feeling of having stretched and strengthened our bodies, finding a space and steadiness of the breath, but beyond that into a greater sense of wellbeing and of noticing how exactly you feel in each given moment, and how to regulate some of the emotions of being a human being.
It doesn't matter why you turn up, but hopefully you will find that you want to stay 🙏
Any help we can get at navigating life is something to be explored!
Hope to see you there - please ask me if you have any questions. I'll pop the booking link below 💕
Yin & Sound pair so well together 💖
Claire and I are joining forces again to offer you an afternoon in which you can truly rest, and enjoy both.
If you are feeling depleted, or tense, or your mind is racing, or you just want to enjoy the experience of yin and sound, please do come and join us.
We begin with yin - a quiet practice with longer held, often supported poses that allow muscles to soften, tensions to ease and an awareness of being genuinely present in the moment to be gently cultivated.
And then there is nothing to do aside from lay and bathe in, or listen to the sounds of Tibetan bowls, crystal bowls and the rhythmic sound of the gong - a sound meditation.
The two may well leave you feeling deeply rested.
We will be at Ickleford Village hall for this gathering,
on
Sunday 26th April between
3-5pm.
The cost is £30.
Claire and I would like you to reach out to either of us if you are facing financial difficulty which would stop you being able to come
We gather around once a month, for free, to practice a short yoga sequence together online.
Because the world needs us all to be a bit kinder to each other.
Tomorrow we stand in our strength, kindness and wisdom.

In one world, smoke rises
like a prayer no one answered.
Names of countries turn
the colour of ash
Palestine, Lebanon, Sudan, Iraq,
Yemen, Syria
a litany of burning skies.
Mothers hush their children
beneath trembling ceilings,
fathers count breaths
instead of blessings,
and dawn arrives already grieving.
Some corners of the world burn
while others hang ornaments…
may our hearts never grow numb
to the fires we do not see.
Because elsewhere, lights twinkle.
Red baubles, gift-wrap,
the soft hum of December
that doesn’t flinch.
Laughter spills across warm rooms
where no one checks the windows
for drones.
How strange this split world is
one half wrapped in fire,
the other in ribbon.
And yet the heart can hold both:
the joy we’re allowed,
the sorrow we must witness,
the love that insists
on feeling it all.
May we never forget
the smoke behind the snow,
the lives inside the headlines,
the quiet truth
that peace, like a child,
is ours to protect
before it disappears.

Can you feel the ‘busy ness’ of this time of year brewing?
Would you like to press pause for an afternoon and ‘top your battery up?’
I have one space available for an afternoon of yoga; of good company and movement, contemplation and stillness.
It was an incredible protest yesterday, attended by over half a million people 🇵🇸✊🕊️ That’s hundreds of thousands not the tens of thousands mainstream news channel reported.
As ever ours was a peaceful movement. So emotionally charged as there have been 2 years of genocide during which time over 67 000 Palestinian men women and children. Entire Families have been wiped out. 67 000. Over 18 000 of which were children. The world has been watching. And the movement for peace and justice and the call for an end to oppression building.
Walking with my own family, I am relieved that we are a family of love, daring to look outside our cosy bubble of relative safety and to walk in solidarity with those who are not afforded the same privilege.
Ben Jamal of said
‘Tomorrow, Palestinian parents may feel they do not have to write the names of their children upon their arms, so that if they are blown to pieces some part of them will be recognisable for burial.’ 😢💔
It is unimaginable. The western world has to wake up. And it is.
He also shared these poignant words ‘we know that an injustice anywhere to anyone, is an injustice everywhere to everyone.’
What can we do? We can educate ourselves, we can actively engage in making the world a kinder place, we can boycott. We can continue to have the awkward conversations with family and friends.
There were three miles of protest for humanity yesterday. And those three miles aren’t going away.
Proud, as ever, to walk with and friends and supporter of

ABOUT ME:
Yoga has been at my core for a lot of years now, and to be able to share my passion for yoga I took my teacher training with Katy Appleton of appleyoga in 2017. I’m really happy to be offering small classes and individual sessions at my yoga studio - The Lodge.
I started my journey in this field of complementary and alternative health over 7 years ago now, when I trained with Louise Keet at the London School of Reflexology in Regents College. I hold a level 3 diploma in Reflexology. I am a full member of the Association of Reflexologists. My practice has been established for over 6 years now.
My personal belief is that a holistic approach to health can provide a positive benefit to everyone.
A LITTLE ABOUT YOUR REFLEXOLOGY TREATMENT:
Your session will be an hour, with a 45 minute treatment, although please allow a little more time for your first visit when we will have a look at your medical background. We might also discuss some aspects of your lifestyle with you, for me to gain a more holistic view of you so that I can give you the best treatment possible and tailor what I do to your individual need.
All of your details will be treated with complete confidentiality.
The overall sensation is usually a relaxing and soothing one and I will work with you at a pace you feel comfortable with during our treatments. There may be discomfort in some places, which may be an indication of imbalance in the body. You may choose to sleep or rest your eyes during your treatment, or you may wish to talk. It is your time and space, and I want you to be comfortable enough to do whichever you would prefer.
