It’s completely normal for young people to feel nervous about vaccinations.

Our nurses are experienced in supporting students and helping them feel calm and comfortable.

Many students say the vaccination was much quicker than they expected.

If your child missed their school vaccination day, remember catch-up clinics are available https://www.schoolvaccination.uk/catch-up-clinics

What a fantastic day with our Vaccination UK teams at the HPV National Training Day🎉

We were delighted to be joined by Professor Atiya Kamal, Professor of Health Psychology at Birmingham City University and HCPC Registered Health Psychologist. Her session was incredibly engaging, sharing fascinating insights into how vaccines are developed, as well as tackling the real challenges around vaccine hesitancy and how we can better connect with the communities we serve.

The buzz in the room was amazing - full of energy, enthusiasm, and open, honest conversations. It was brilliant to see so many colleagues sharing experiences, learning from one another, and working together to spark new ideas.

Bringing our national teams together like this is so valuable, especially as we kick off the HPV programme. Together, we’re playing an important role in supporting NHS England's ambition to eliminate cervical cancer by 2040 - something we can all feel proud to be part of 💙

A truly inspiring day, and we’re excited to keep the momentum going!

The DTP booster helps strengthen protection against:

• Diphtheria
• Tetanus
• Polio

These diseases are rare in the UK thanks to vaccination, but protection can fade over time. That’s why teenagers receive this booster in Year 9.

Our Vaccination UK teams are currently visiting schools to provide these vaccines.

The MenACWY vaccine helps protect young people from meningitis and septicaemia, which can become serious very quickly.

Teenagers are at higher risk of carrying the bacteria that cause meningitis, which is why this vaccine is offered during secondary school.

Our Vaccination UK teams are currently delivering these vaccines in schools.
