Your first appointment starts with a traditional diagnosis.
This sounds formal but is really just me getting to know you as well as possible.

We chat! 🙂 About your medical history, your lifestyle, your interests and passions, your concerns and how you are hoping acupuncture can help.
This conversation helps me build a picture of what might be behind your symptoms and what sort of treatment might be most beneficial for you.

Before any needles come into play I also check your pulses - points on each wrist that give me a read on how your energy is balanced throughout your meridians and whether there are any blocks in energy I need to address. Pulses are not a diagnostic tool as such but they provide a snapshot of the current situation which I can use to monitor progress during a treatment and over time.

I also check your physical alignment and compare your skin temperature in the three sections of your body which we call the three jiao by simply holding my palm against your skin.

Once I have gathered the information and observations I need, I use my needles to clear any unhelpful energy from your system. This is done by inserting needles into your back and leaving them for a short while. It can feel quite strange at first but not unpleasant.

I remain with you the entire time and never leave my patients alone in the treatment room.

After this, I select 2-4 other points specifically for you based on our conversation and the observations I have made. These are usually points in which needles are inserted and removed after a few seconds. This is not painful but it is important that you feel a dull sensation similar to an ache when the needle reaches the point. I talk you through it at every stage so you know what to expect.

At the end of the first appointment we discuss a plan for follow up sessions and how you might feel in the days following the treatment.

If you are thinking of trying Five Element Acupuncture but have worries or questions you can book a free call with me via my website. ❤️

I’m so proud to work in amazing, female run spaces. I love supporting and being supported by women and am always impressed but never surprised by their generosity, drive and determination.

I’m often undecided about what to share on this platform - my imposter syndrome often gets the better of me - but endo is a subject that I am close to and I thought I’d take the opportunity to talk about it a little bit.

I was diagnosed with endometriosis in 2014 at age 33 after having had symptoms including painful periods and fatigue since I was a teenager. I was sent for a laparoscopy because I’d been trying and failing to get pregnant - up until then I’d been told by doctors that period pain was normal and I should just take painkillers and essentially buck up.
The pain was so severe at times that I had almost passed out but I just started to believe that I was a wimp or had a low pain threshold. I had never even heard of endometriosis at this point.
I’d like to think that things are changing and that women’s pain is now taken more seriously, however I continuously come across women who aren’t listened to until years later when they are trying and failing to get pregnant. In fact, research shows that it takes even longer to get diagnosed - up to 9 years!

While I am so grateful that I now have 2 boys via IVF and that my symptoms are managed to the point where for the most part they don’t impact my day to day life, I feel like I’m always waiting for the pain to return.

I like to help raise awareness because I know there are women who are struggling and not getting the diagnosis or support they need. If that’s you, there are some great resources online to support your GP appointments and help you advocate for yourself.

While you wait for a diagnosis there are alternative medicine options like acupuncture which really can help.

Many women come to acupuncture feeling like their body has let them down.

Symptoms are the body’s way of communicating, not failing.
Support can help make sense of what’s happening.

Goodbye 2025!
Thank you to everyone who walked into my treatment room in 2025. To patients old and new - thank you for trusting me. I don’t take it lightly.

I embarked on this career nearly a decade ago hoping to help people but I under-estimated how much I would be helped, challenged and supported by everyone who I have met.

I’m so privileged to do this job. It’s fun, it’s challenging, it’s frustrating and sometimes it’s a little bit magical.

2026 will bring both light and shade as all years do but I hope it brings you all some unexpected joy and a little bit of magic along the way.

I wanted to answer a question about acupuncture and pregnancy because I work with a lot of patients who are having IVF or coming to me for support with fertility. When they find out they are pregnant they often stop coming or are not sure whether they can continue with treatment.

Happily, acupuncture is considered safe throughout pregnancy and I have had lots of positive feedback from clients who have found it helpful.

Some of the ways it has helped them (and how it helped me during pregnancy);

Anxiety - particularly if you have a history of infertility or baby loss
Back Pain - this can occur throughout pregnancy but is more common in trimester 3
Nausea and morning sickness - more common in the early weeks but I treat women with HG all the way through
Birth Preparation - encouraging relaxation and getting the body ready for labour

If you are considering acupuncture and are pregnant and have concerns or questions, please do get in touch or book a free phone consultation. 😊

Tiny needles, big results.

Did you know there are many acupuncture points on the face AND they can be used to support skin health?

Facial Enhancement Acupuncture is more than just a beauty treatment — it’s a holistic approach to skin health that supports your body from the inside out.

Here’s what it can do for you:
• Boost natural collagen + elastin production
• Improve skin tone and texture
• Soften fine lines + reduce puffiness
• Increase circulation for a fresh, healthy glow
• Support stress relief + hormonal balance

This isn’t a quick fix — it’s a gentle, natural way to support your skin’s long-term vitality and boost your energy.

Curious to try it? I’d love to answer your questions. Drop them below or send me a message!

Moxa or Moxibustion…it’s probably the part of a Five Element treatment that my patients ask about the most!

What is it?
The act of moxibustion is a healing technique with its roots in Chinese medicine. It involves the burning of a herb called mugwort (nothing to do with Harry Potter!) on specific acupuncture points to stimulate circulation, boost energy, and support the body’s natural healing.

It’s often used to:
• Warm the energy channels
• To ease pain or stimulate blood flow/ support natural cycles
• Turn breech babies (yes—really!)
• Support digestive health
• Strengthen immunity & build energy

The heat penetrates deeply, encouraging balance and flow where things feel stuck.

So there you go! A bit of moxa background. Oh and it’s smells amazing! 😊

Most of the patients I see in my clinic are women. This is partly out of my choice to primarily work to support women’s health, but also because when it comes to assisted reproduction it is often the women who have to take on the burden of appointments, medication and adapt their lives in order to commit to the process.
I have had the pleasure of playing a small role in many of these women’s journeys and am always humbled by their courage, determination and fierceness. Humbled but never surprised, because it’s no shock to me that we as women possess these qualities in abundance.
I hope I can continue to work with women for years to come and have the privilege of listening to their stories.
