I am absolutely delighted to share some incredible news from Luke’s Place. Two years ago, we took on the responsibility of turning around a service that was rated Inadequate and on the brink of closure. At that time, we knew the journey ahead would be challenging — but we also knew that with compassion, commitment, and unwavering determination, we could transform the lives of the people who live here.
Today, I am proud to announce that Luke’s Place has achieved a Good rating across all five key lines of enquiry in our recent CQC inspection — the first inspection since our takeover in September 2023. This outstanding achievement is a testament to the dedication, professionalism, and heart of every member of our team, and marks a remarkable turnaround in the quality of care delivered here.
During the inspection in November 2025, CQC recognised that Luke’s Place now delivers care that is: Safe, with staff who truly understand and respond to people’s individual needs. Effective, with person-centred risk assessments and robust safeguarding. Caring, where dignity, respect and kindness are at the core of practice. Responsive, consistently adapting support to reflect people’s preferences and promoting choice and independence. Well-led, with visible, approachable leadership and a culture that listens, learns and continuously improves.
CQC also highlighted that our service meets the Right Support, Right Care, Right Culture statutory guidance, meaning we support autistic people and people with a learning disability to live meaningful, inclusive lives with dignity and choice — something we have always aspired to deliver here.
This achievement simply wouldn’t have been possible without the passion and professionalism of our remarkable team. Every staff member — from support workers to senior leaders — has played a vital role in creating a nurturing, empowering environment where people feel safe, respected and supported to live well. A very special mention goes to Louise Trainor, our Quality and Compliance Manager, whose leadership, attention to detail, and unwavering focus on continuous improvement has been pivotal in driving our quality journey forward. Louise’s work has strengthened our governance, supported our staff development, and ensured that people’s experiences are at the heart of everything we do.
To our staff, residents, families, and partners — thank you. This rating reflects your trust, collaboration, and the collective effort to build a service that truly makes a difference. It is an honour to lead such a passionate and compassionate team. We will continue to build on this success, ensuring that Luke’s Place remains a service we are all proud of — one that supports people to live the life they choose with confidence, dignity and joy.
With sincere thanks and pride, Kelly Alexander, Managing Director & Registered Manager - Luke’s Place
