🍊🕯️Christingle Service🕯️🍊

We are very excited to announce our first ever Christingle Service will be held on Saturday 6th December at 3pm and we would love to see as many local children join us as possible!

The Children’s Society Christingle services are about bringing families together to spread a message of joy and light in the festive season and will be a truly lovely Christmas memory to look back on!

The service is focussed very much around the children who will do a procession around the home holding the candlelit (battery!) Christingles that the residents will be making in advance of the service! We will have a collection at the end of the service for the Children’s Society!

Thank you to Churches Together for making this happen! We look forward to making lots of new memories with you!

❓❓Getting to Know Each Other❓❓

Residents enjoyed learning more about each as well as reminiscing in a game all about you!

Having rolled the giant dice, the numbers they rolled would indicate what they were asked. Questions varied from what is your favourite place, song or food to what makes you happy and if you could travel anywhere, where would you go!

A great game to generate lots of conversation, reminisce and get to know each other better!

🍲Winter Warmers!🍲

At Tanglewood we are pleased to support our local community with our Winter Warmers scheme, inviting over 65’s, who are struggling with the cost of living, to join us for a home cooked meal in the warmth of our cosy home!

To launch this Winter initiative, we are inviting over 65’s to join us on Saturday 29th November at 2.30pm for a warming lunch feast of homemade soup, cowboy stew and jacket potatoes followed by fruit crumble!

⭐️🎉Celebrating Success🎉⭐️

Congratulations to our Team Member of the Month for October, Care Assistant Louise!

Louise received an incredible number of nominations and was described as helpful, bubbly, compassionate, cheerful, happy and smiling and so much more!! Very well deserved Louise!!

And in September, our camera shy Care Assistant Clair was awarded Team Member of the Month after being nominated for being kind, funny, cheerful, always willing to help and putting a smile on people’s faces. Congratulations Clair, very well deserved also!

Another lovely session of intergenerational therapy this week with our childminder friends and their little charges!

These little visitors really brighten our day and bring a fantastic energy to the home, they love to play and to share their crafts and toys with the residents!

Thanks to Elly from Be Great Fitness for another fabulous session this week! We particularly enjoyed the boxing this week!!

Our Be Great Fitness sessions include a wide range of different exercises that are engaging and fun and keep our muscles moving, helping to maintain mobility and core strength! 💪🏻🥊

🥰🥰World Kindness Day🥰🥰

Last week, to mark World Kindness Day, our lifestyles co-ordinators, Sapphire and Kayleigh, took to the town to deliver home baked treats to thank some of our local services.

Visiting GP surgeries, pharmacies, our local library and post office they handed over gift boxes of brownies and cookies as our way of thanking them for what they do for the people of Holbeach!

💅🏻🍻Gent’s Club & Pamper Time🍻💅🏻

Yesterday our gentlemen enjoyed a get together for Gent’s Club, where they enjoyed a glass of beer, sang some of their favourite songs, including hits from Elvis, The Beach Boys, Cliff Richard and Queen, and had a really good chinwag!

Topics of conversation were their favourite holidays, the job they most liked, their favourite hobbies and their favourite tipple and snacks. A thoroughly enjoyed afternoon of ‘man time’!!

Meanwhile, the ladies were enjoying a good old pamper, having their nails shaped and polished! 💅🏻

🤩Children in Need🤩

The team wore their pyjamas to work today and chose a duck in the duck race sweepstake to raise funds for Children in Need today!

The residents and visitors found it highly amusing to see us all dressed in our pjs which was the icing on the cake, we love to raise a smile!! 😊

🖍️🎨Craft Club🎨🖍️

We love to tap into our creativity and get out the paints, crayons, glue and glitter in our craft club sessions!

Recently these sessions have been very topical, we used various media to create some striking firework pictures, before focusing on poppies for Remembrance Day.

Most recently we have turned our attentions to creating birthday cards for His Majesty King Charles III!
