I teach the Mindful Self-compassion 8 week programme in The High peak, Derbyshire, and East Cheshire
Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) is an empirically-supported, 8-week, 9 session (a day retreat is included) training program designed to cultivate the skill of self-compassion. Based on the groundbreaking research of Kristin Neff and the clinical expertise of Christopher Germer, MSC teaches core principles and practices that enable participants to respond to difficult moments in their lives with kindness, care and understanding. Rapidly expanding research demonstrates that self-compassion is strongly associated with emotional well-being, less anxiety, depression and stress, maintenance of healthy habits such as diet and exercise, and satisfying personal relationships. After participating in the 8 week 9-session programme, you’ll be able to:

· Practice self-compassion in daily life
· Understand the empirically-supported benefits of self-compassion
· Motivate yourself with kindness rather than criticism
· Handle difficult emotions with greater ease
· Transform challenging relationships, old and new
· Manage caregiver fatigue
· Practice the art of savoring and self-appreciation

Taking care of the Temple
On July 26th I invite you to join me on a gentle day retreat that begins with a journey of self discovery and self care as we connect with our bodies and the breath . Creating stillness and peace within .

This lovely retreat also introduces my new series of day retreats
workshops, and courses which help us to celebrate and look after our mind, body and spirit.
‘Taking care of the Temple’ offers a unique and deeply nurturing approach to our wellbeing using wisdom practices, proven mindfulness based strategies , and self compassion practices; and incorporates the very latest knowledge gleaned from the world of neuroscience, psychology, and functional medicine principles.
Take a step outside of every day life , responsibilities and daily demands to immerse yourself in practices and teaching that will help you :to become more centred, calmer, balanced. The benefits are better sleep, more energy, a more compassionate and tolerant approach to yourself and all your relationships. A healthier body and a stronger immune system.

🚨 PSA: Acid reflux is NOT CAUSED by too much acid in the stomach. ‼️

👆It’s easy to assume because hydrochloric acid, or stomach acid, creeps up the esophagus. You can literally feel it.🥴

🤯However, acid reflux is actually caused by TOO LITTLE acid in your stomach.

💥As we age, our bodies tend to become weaker instead of stronger. When it comes to our stomachs, we tend to produce LESS stomach acid instead of more. Therefore, it is essential to eat alkaline-forming foods that help your body produce MORE (of the good) stomach acid.

👏Check out this list of the BEST and WORST foods & drinks for acid reflux. Any surprises?
