If you think FREC3 is just another first aid certificate, you're missing the bigger picture.

This qualification opens doors to five completely different career paths.

Event medical responder at concerts and festivals.

Patient transport services in NHS and private ambulances.

Security industry roles requiring SIA-compliant first aid.

Law enforcement and fire rescue positions.

High-risk industry roles in military, offshore energy, and manufacturing.

FREC3 goes far beyond standard first aid.

It's Royal College of Surgeons endorsed, PHEM Level D accredited, and nationally recognised.

That's why employers across multiple sectors require or prefer it.

No medical experience needed.

Just 37 hours over 5 days.

Training in Holmfirth, Manchester, and Sheffield.

After FREC3, you can progress to FREC4, then FREUC5, and eventually Associate Ambulance Practitioner.

It's a clear career pathway in pre-hospital care.

Here's what you need to know👇🏼

Most people don't recognise hypothermia until it's life-threatening.

Here's the thing: hypothermia can happen to anyone.

Cold weather. Water. Wind.

And when body temperature drops too low, every minute counts.

But here's what most people don't know:

There are 3 critical steps that can save someone's life from hypothermia, and knowing these could be the difference between warming them safely or making things worse.

Step #1: Get Them Out of the Cold

Move them to a warm place immediately.

Get them out of the cold environment.

Remove any wet clothing.

Wet clothes make hypothermia worse.

Step #2: Warm Them Gradually

Wrap them in blankets.

Cover their head—most heat is lost through the head.

Give them warm drinks if they're conscious.

Never use hot water or heating pads.

Step #3: Know When to Call 999

If they're confused or unconscious, call 999 immediately.

Don't rub their skin—this can cause more damage.

Don't give them alcohol—it makes hypothermia worse.

Hypothermia is a medical emergency.

The truth?

Most people don't know how to treat hypothermia, let alone recognise the signs early.

But here's what you can do:

Learn hypothermia response at Basegreen.

Here's what you need to know👇🏼

Every parent's nightmare is their baby not breathing.

Here's the thing: infant CPR is completely different from adults and children.

The technique. The depth. The approach.

And when your baby stops breathing, you can't use adult techniques.

But here's what most people don't know:

There are 3 critical steps that can save an infant's life, and knowing these could be the difference between bringing your baby back or losing them forever.

Step #1: Start with Rescue Breaths

Give 5 rescue breaths first.

Cover both nose and mouth with your mouth.

This gets oxygen into their system immediately.

Step #2: Chest Compressions Are Different

Place fingers around the back, use thumbs to compress.

Compress just below the ni**le line.

Not your whole hand—just your thumbs.

Press down one-third of chest depth.

Give 15 compressions at a rate of 100 to 120 per minute.

Step #3: The Ratio Matters

Give 2 gentle breaths after every 15 compressions.

Keep the cycle going: 15 compressions, 2 breaths.

Continue until help arrives or they start breathing.

---

The truth?

Most parents don't know infant CPR is different, let alone how to do it properly.

But here's what you can do:

Learn infant CPR hands-on at Basegreen.

Here's what you need to know👇🏼

Most people don't know what to do when direct pressure isn't enough.

Here's the thing: severe bleeding can happen anywhere.

Accidents. Injuries. Emergencies.

And when someone is losing blood fast, you need advanced techniques.

But here's what most people don't know:

There are 2 critical pressure points that can slow bleeding when direct pressure fails, and knowing these could be the difference between controlling severe bleeding or watching someone bleed out.

Point #1: For Arm Bleeding

Press the brachial artery.

It's on the inside of the upper arm, between the bicep and tricep.

Press firmly against the bone.

This cuts off blood flow to the arm below the injury.

Point #2: For Leg Bleeding

Press the femoral artery.

It's in the groin area, where the leg meets the body.

Press firmly against the hip bone.

This cuts off blood flow to the leg below the injury.

Point #3: Don't Release

Keep pressing while someone else applies direct pressure to the wound.

Don't release until help arrives.

This is an advanced technique that requires proper training.

The truth?

Most people don't know about pressure points, let alone how to use them properly.

Here's what you need to know👇🏼

Most people can't spot a concussion until it's too late.

Here's the thing: head injuries can happen anywhere.

Sports. Falls. Accidents.

And when someone you care about hits their head, the signs aren't always obvious.

But here's what most people don't know:

There are 3 critical signs that tell you immediately if someone has a concussion, and knowing these could be the difference between getting them proper care or missing a serious brain injury.

Sign #1: Look for Confusion

Are they dazed?

Do they seem disoriented?

Can they remember what happened?

These mental changes are your first red flags that something's wrong.

Sign #2: Check for Physical Signs

Headache. Nausea. Dizziness.

They might feel sick or unsteady.

This isn't just a bump on the head, it's a warning sign.

Sign #3: Watch for Changes

Are they acting differently?

Slurred speech? Loss of balance?

Any change in behaviour after a head injury is serious.

If you see any of these signs, call 999 immediately.

Here's what you need to know👇🏼

Most parents don't know what to do when their baby is choking.

Here's the thing: babies under one year old can choke on anything.

Food. Small objects. Toys.

And when it happens, every second counts.

But here's what most people don't know:

There are 3 critical steps that can save an infant's life in those first crucial moments, and knowing these could be the difference between saving your baby or watching helplessly.

Step #1: Hold Them Face Down

Position them face down on your forearm.

Support their head and neck carefully.

Give up to 5 back blows between their shoulder blades.

This uses gravity to help dislodge the object.

Step #2: Turn and Press

If that doesn't work, turn them face up.

Give up to 5 chest thrusts.

Place fingers around the back, use thumbs to push inward and upward.

This creates pressure to force the object out.

Step #3: Keep Alternating

Keep alternating between back blows and chest thrusts.

Continue until the object comes out or they become unconscious.

If they become unconscious, call 999 immediately.

10 steps to advance your career (what I've learned training over 1,000 professionals):

1. Stop Waiting for Permission

Most people wait for their manager to promote them.

Or for the perfect job posting to appear.

It's impossible to advance your career if you're waiting for someone else to recognise your potential.

Start investing in yourself today.

2. Identify What You're Missing

We often think we're qualified for the next role.

But the opposite is true.

Most people don't know what skills employers actually want:

• What qualifications open doors?
• What training makes you stand out?
• What certifications prove competence?

Identify your gaps, then fill them.

3. Invest in Accredited Training

Instead of hoping experience alone will get you promoted, invest in professional qualifications.

First Aid at Work. Leadership and Management. Fire Safety. Industry-specific certifications.

Qualifications prove you can do the job.

Experience alone doesn't.

4. Choose Flexible Learning

Most people think training means taking weeks off work.

That's not true.

Modern training offers flexible options:

• In-person at training centres
• At your workplace
• Distance learning at your own pace

You can upskill without disrupting your current role.

5. Focus on One Skill at a Time

It's impossible to master everything at once.

When you try to learn multiple skills simultaneously, you end up overwhelmed and making slow progress.

Pick one qualification.

Complete it.

Then move to the next.

6. Apply Skills Immediately

When you begin to learn something new, use it right away.

Our brains forget information we don't use.

Apply your new skills in your current role.

Practice them daily.

When you return to job hunting, you'll have real experience to talk about.

7. Connect With Your Industry

Your industry is your greatest teacher.

• Attend training events
• Join professional networks
• Learn from accredited providers
• Connect with qualified professionals

Find time to invest in your professional development.

8. Train Your Mindset

Instead of thinking "I'm not qualified," focus on "I'm becoming qualified."

Identify what you need to learn.

Find the right training.

Commit to completing it.

Your mindset determines your career trajectory.

9. Take Action

Career advancement starts decreasing when you stop learning.

The only way to stave this off:

Take action.

Invest in one professional qualification this quarter.

Complete it.

Then invest in the next.

10. Make It Ongoing

Don't treat training as a one-time event.

Treat it as an ongoing investment.

Regular skill updates. New qualifications.

The professionals who thrive are the ones who never stop learning.

Uplevel your career and your earning potential.
