Every January, we make resolutions from the same place—the belief that we're not enough, that we need to be fixed, that we should be doing more.

And by February? We're exhausted. Again.

What if 2026 started differently?

What if instead of punishing goals, you set a sacred intention?

Sankalpa isn't a resolution. It's a seed planted in your deepest truth—watered by practices that actually support your nervous system, your body, your soul.

That's what the New Year Intention Retreat is for.

We gather at Hazeldene Cottage in the Yorkshire hills. Small group (just 2-4 women). You bring your soul sisters.

From Friday evening to Sunday Lunch: Release what's not yours through a fire ceremony. Feel into what IS yours through yoga and breathwork. Name your sacred intention (not from "should" but from soul). Learn practices you'll use all year. Start 2026 clear, grounded, purposeful.

It’s been a while in the making, but I've created the space where midlife women can finally exhale.
Where the hot flushes, the brain fog, the weight of being "everything to everyone" gets witnessed. Held. Softened.
Not in some far-flung resort with a bunch of strangers. Right here in the Yorkshire hills. With your soul sisters.

F**k "good vibes only."

You know what actually helps?

FEELING YOUR FEELINGS.

All of them.

The rage that comes out of nowhere.
The grief for who you used to be.
The fear of what's ahead.
The confusion of not recognizing yourself.

Those feelings aren't problems to fix.

They're information.

Your body speaking.
Your truth emerging.
Your authentic self RISING.

But toxic positivity says:
"Just be grateful."
"Stay positive."
"Others have it worse."

And that?

That's just spiritual bypassing dressed up as wellness.

Here's what I believe instead:

You're allowed to be angry AND grateful.
You're allowed to struggle AND be strong.
You're allowed to be overwhelmed AND be healing.

You don't have to be "positive" all the time.

You have to be REAL.

And real is messy.
Real is complex.
Real is ALL the feelings at once.

My morning practice isn't Instagram-perfect.

There's no 5am wake-up.
No hour-long routine.
No perfectly styled yoga mat in perfect lighting.

It's usually:

7:15am. Still in pajamas.
Kettle boiling. Daughter yelling for help finding her school uniform
Deep breaths sitting on my bed, before the day unravels.

That's it.

Five minutes of:
→ Feeling my feet on the floor
→ Noticing my breath
→ Checking in with my body
→ Asking: What do I need today?

Some days I hear: REST.
Some days: MOVE.
Some days: LET IT GO.
Some days: Nothing yet. Just BE.

I used to think self-care required:
→ An hour minimum
→ Complete silence
→ The "right" setting
→ Doing it "properly"

So I never did it.

Then I learned: Five minutes of presence is more powerful than an hour of distraction.

You don't need perfection.
You don't need an hour.
You don't need the perfect setup.

You need five minutes.
Your breath.
Your willingness to check in.

That's where transformation begins.

Not in the big, dramatic moments.

In the small, consistent ones.

So here's your permission:

Your practice doesn't have to be perfect.
It just has to be YOURS.

Here's what nobody told me about midlife:

It's exhausting!!

Not "just because of menopause."

My nervous system—after 50 years of stress, trauma, and putting everyone else first—was completely dysregulated.

And no amount of "positive thinking" or "trying harder" was going to fix it.

I needed to address the ROOT.

The nervous system.

Once I learned how to regulate it?

Everything changed.

Not overnight. Not through one magic practice.

But gradually, steadily, my body remembered what safety felt like.

And from that foundation, everything else became possible.

This is why the YAY Method starts with nervous system work.

Because you can't transform from a place of constant activation.

You can't heal when you're in survival mode.

You need regulation FIRST.

Then everything else—joy, clarity, purpose, power—can follow.

If you're experiencing symptoms like:

But are you truly ready for it?

Or are you still carrying last year's weight — old patterns, old stories, old versions of yourself that no longer fit?

You can't build something new on an uncleared foundation.

This is why I'm running the New Year Release & Renewal Workshop again on Sunday, Jan. 25th, 2-5pm.

This isn't about goals or resolutions.

It's about release. Renewal. Realignment.

The Year of the Horse 🐴 is two months away.

We're still deep in Snake 🐍 energy. And that means we still have time—until February 17th, the Lunar New Year—to shed what's holding us back.

But here's what nobody tells you about midlife:

Menopause is your permission slip.

To let go of the version of you who survived in chaos.

To release relationships that drain you dry.

To shed the identity that puts everyone else first.

To stop treating rest like a luxury you have to earn.

To stop carrying everything alone.

This is the magic of menopause.

Not the hot flashes. Not the symptoms.

The shedding. The releasing. The becoming.

You can't ascend until you fully let go.

So use this Snake energy. Burn it down. Release it all.

Because the Horse is coming.

2025 is the Year of the Snake. 🐍

And the snake doesn't apologize for shedding.

It doesn't cling to old skin. It doesn't negotiate with what no longer fits.

It releases. It transforms. It moves forward.

This is a year of truth. Of grief. Of endings.

A year of shedding what you've outgrown and letting the ground beneath you become clear.

It's quiet work. Honest work. Deep work.

And it's clearing the path for what comes next: the Year of the Horse.

Passion. Power. Aligned presence.

But you can't gallop forward if you're still dragging the past behind you.

So this year? Let yourself shed.

Let yourself grieve what's over.

Let yourself tell the truth — to yourself first.

I'm ready for this. I've been doing the work to prepare.

And I'm looking forward to building my community of women ready for change.

Women ready to let go of what no longer serves them.

Women ready to step into their power, their clarity, their truth.
