🌊 BIG — Very BIG! — EASTER NEWS from the North Norfolk Wheelboat POPPY! 🐣⚓.
There’s a lot of LIVIN’ to do this year — and we’re making it happen!
You may already know Poppy, North Norfolk’s first wheelchair-accessible powerboat, which has opened up Blakeney Harbour to people of all abilities to seal-spotting among our incredible grey seal colony 🦭 to birdwatching in one of the UK’s most important tern breeding areas 🐦.
Well… guess what?
We’ve just ordered her bigger sister: POPPY FREEDOM! 🎉
Thanks to some amazing generosity, we’ve raised the funds to build her.
Poppy Freedom will carry up to 12 passengers, which can include 4 wheelchair users, making the joy of our coastline even more accessible.
Our small but mighty team — just 1.5 full-time staff and 40 passionate volunteers, ( donated office space) — runs on goodwill and determination. We ask for donations from passengers to keep this vital service afloat.
But there’s still more to do before our 2027 launch:
💙 Training & safety preparation
💙 fitting out and maintenance
💙 Administration, promotion, and year-round fundraising
So this Easter, as you plan your spring adventures, please consider a small gift to help us keep our service strong, sustainable, and ready to welcome everyone aboard.
Let’s make sure that everyone — whatever their ability — can enjoy the same magical experiences: seal-spotting cruises, stunning coastlines, and the pure joy of being out on the water. 🌅
👉 Donate, share, or simply spread the word. Together we can keep the spirit of Poppy Freedom sailing on!
Please note this is Shaun standing in a very similar boat, however it’s not the one!
