Good morning Holyhead! Could this be the tackiest mug I own? Yes!! However it's also good fun, which is a bit like our Holyhead group (the fun bit, not the tacky bit) πŸ˜†πŸ˜€!

Dave the flamingo has been with me for a few years now. He's a symbol of summer. Holidays, barbecues, picnics, and sitting out in beer gardens.

In group we've been thinking about what we would love to achieve by summer β˜€οΈ. How we'd like to look; how we'd like to feel; what we'd like to wear.

They say that dropping 10lbs is roughly a dress size. I dont know about that, but I know that 10lbs makes an incredible and noticeable difference in my clothes. Of course, I actually want more than that, but every 1lb counts towards that.

It's not always easy. Sometimes its a plus βž•οΈ rather than a minus βž–οΈ, but you ain't going nowhere if your car isn't on the road!

Mexican spiced charred chick'n & veg bowl. Its been a one pot wonder sort of day today. I haven't wanted complicated; I needed fast, fuss-free, and filling.

Bobby wanted other stuff for his tea, and that can be a trigger to not cook for myself. I think I'll make something on plan later, then forget until I'm 'hangry'.

That's where having a repertoire of easy, go-to meals comes in handy. And if they comprise of freezer and cupboard essentials, then they'll be ready even on those 'need to go shopping' kind of days.

Well a little bit overdue, but its been a really busy week and I've been loving being in the greenhouse πŸ’š. It is a gardener's busiest time of year πŸ™ƒ and thats without other stuff!

Easter 🐣 is done, thank goodness, and though there was a 2lb gain, I am happy that I put a line under it and weighed in. It's the best way to get over a dud week, and now it's action time!

Weight loss goals for this week.. over 2lb. Undo the gain, and aiming to lose some too. The plan: food diary and SWIP swaps πŸ˜† (less swips, more swaps to better choices).

My mindset? I'm mildly frustrated at the blip, but also very positive because I know if I focus on the week ahead I'll be taking steps forward again.

Important message to you out there:

Face it, own it, move past it. Have a strong 'why', preferably with a reward attached to it, so that when you stumble, you'll scramble back up and get working on it again. I want to fit into my nice clothes, and the reward is feeling great for my holiday 😊

Who else took advantage of the gorgeous 4p veg packs in supermarkets recently? My members had some brilliant tips storing and using this produce πŸ₯°.

I've made parsnip soup. 8 parsnips peeled and chopped. 2 medium onions chopped. 1 tbsp cumin seeds. 1 tbsp garam masala. 3 cardamon pods, lightly crushed (remember to remove before blitzing later).

Place over medium heat until the spices smell gorgeous, then add 2 pints veg stock, bring to the boil, reduce to a gentle simmer and cook until parsnips are tender.

Allow to cool. Dig out those cardamon pods & blitz til smooth. Add water to improve the consistency if it's too thick. Season and serve with lightly toasted cumin seeds and chilli 🌢 pepper if liked.

Well weight loss is just part of the story; we also champion a more active lifestyle.

Unfortunately my son, aged 12, and myself have different ideas on what active looks like!πŸ’‘ I like a gentle stroll on well established, flat paths. With cafes or pubs. Bobby the barbarian likes dragging his poor mother up vertical accents into the wilderness. Think clouds, cliffs, and yetis.

To be fair, I loved it. Seeing my kid and his pals running, exploring, climbing, and enjoying time outdoors, was great. Childhood memories that he'll treasure.

My body disagrees with everything I just said. It's sulking (and if i was a car, would fail an MOT). Still, a non-scales victory ✌️ I pushed myself further and survived!

Congratulations to David and Karen, a father and daughter team who have inspired the group with their commitment.

Karen has lost amost 6 stone and she is quietly determined to succeed. David is now a target member, and supports and encourages Karen to keep going, and increase her activity.

As a group we are very proud of both of their achievements - and we love cheering Karen on as she keeps smashing her weight loss goals.

No weight loss journey is without its ups and downs, but if Karen has taught me anything, it is that determination counts for so much.

I made this warm lentil & cauliflower salad (?) for lunch. Simple, inexpensive ingredients, lots of flavour.

I steamed the cauliflower, then chargrilled it.

I added half a finely chopped red pepper to a saucepan and cooked til softened. Added a tin of drained green lentils and stirred through a dressing of:

1 tbsp cider vinegar
1 tbsp lemon juice
2tsp cumin seeds
2 finely chopped garlic cloves
Some chopped coriander

Lastly mix in the cauliflower and serve

Do you know that feeling when you stand on the scales SURE that its been a brilliant week, and certain that it's going to be a loss... only to find that it's a maintain.

Well that was me today, and miffed does not cover it! I sulked for a good TWO minutes. I've had no major blips this week. I've eaten brilliant meals. At the time, I felt like I'd bought something for Β£1 and been charged a tenner.

Now, it would've been easy to eat in retaliation. A one-woman protest, if you like. Except I really, really want that 2 stone. So I know that I have to keep going.

I have had a think about my week πŸ•΅β€β™€οΈπŸ•΅β€β™‚οΈ and there were a few days where I lost track of my healthy extras. And a few days where my speed free food wasn't great. And one day where I had a few chunky shortbread cookies. I might have gotten away with a few not-quite 100% days but..

I have a hot chocolate each evening. I never measure or weigh it. Not usually a problem because thats usually what I save my swips for (25g is 4 swips, but i like mine a bit more chocolatey, so my cup could be anything from 6-8 swips I reckon).

Add all these little crumbs together, and there's almost a Betty Crocker recipe! I have to say, the light bulbπŸ’‘ came on. So, this week its back to tracking properly, and that includes better planning of those SWIPs.

There ya have it folks, I've dusted down, and I'm ready to smash it πŸ’ͺ with a πŸ–Š and a πŸ“–

I will get that epic loss this week!

Congratulations to our Two Together winners - Fran & Katie, and Tracy Jones & Julie Rees.

Our group is all about support, encouragement, and commitment to our goals; so it is no surprise that having the support of a friend, family member, or partner can really add an extra level of motivation and fun.

These pairs of friends are an absolute joy to have in group. They spur each other on, build each other up when things go wrong, and celebrate every win that the other achieves. And as friends, that accountability to the other, means they aren't missing group no matter what.

Of course, that friendship is extended to the rest of the group too. There is always sharing, laughter, and help for other members too. Oh, and I have to be cheeky - there's often more chatter than a box of monkeys πŸ’ πŸ™ˆ πŸ™Š (but I wouldnt have it any other way).

Keep going and keep smashing those goals - the weight loss awards are coming thick and fast, and as your Consultant, and friend, I could not be prouder.
