HELP! MY GUT FEELS LIKE A BALLOON!

Let's discuss the low-hanging fruit if you're constantly bloated.

Rule no 1️⃣: Always always always go back to your foundation aka habits. This is usually where the cracks are. There's no magic supplement to fix you if you don't have a healthy foundation in place.

Here are 5 important tips to practice EVERY SINGLE TIME you eat - so that you have more energy, reducing your need for a post-meal nap. You'll feel lighter, less puffy and your clothes will fit better.

I call it eating etiquette but perhaps that's going too far?! 😮

If these are new to you, start with just one until it becomes habit and then move to the next. That's how you layer on habits and create a strong foundation.

Which 'eating etiquette' tip has the biggest impact on your digestion?

DUTCH TESTING

I've had quite a few enquires about the DUTCH test recently so I've put together a post about it and how it can be a super useful tool for women to get to the ROOT CAUSE of their health issues.

Why is the DUTCH Test so important for women?

Because it gives you dialled in, personalised information about YOUR body, not just a generic picture. This empowers you to make informed decisions about your health and a tailored plan to get you back to feeling your best! ✨

NO MORE GUESSING!
NO MORE DR GOOGLE!

Scroll through the carousel and if you have any of the conditions listed, or you're feeling tired, tired yet wired, have trouble falling asleep or staying asleep, have thinning hair or you're losing hair, fibroids or ovarian cysts, low mood, irritability, PMS, PMDD, PCOS, endometriosis... the list goes on(!)... these are all possible symptoms of a hormone imbalance and a DUTCH test could be super helpful!

DM me 'DUTCH' if you'd like to set up a time to chat more and see if the DUTCH test is right for you.

Bloating & GI Got You Bogged Down?

Let's get real: bloating and gut woes are no fun. But before you reach for the antacids, let's dig into the root causes and see what you can do to feel your best.

Common Culprits:

Low stomach acid: Low, not high, stomach acid is common, especially with age & stress. Without enough acid, food sits and ferments, causing gas and bloating.

Stress & Anxiety: The gut-brain connection is real! Stress can wreak havoc on digestion, leading to gas, bloating, and even constipation. ‍

Imbalanced Microbiome: Our gut bacteria play a vital role in digestion and overall health. When out of whack, it can lead to digestive issues.

Perimenopause & Bloating:
As oestrogen & progesterone levels dip during perimenopause, it can slow down digestion and lead to water retention, both of which contribute to bloating. Plus, stress and anxiety are common during this time, further exacerbating the issue.

Taking Control:
The good news is, there are ways to manage bloating and GI issues. Here are some tips:

Don't snack: Eat 3 meals per day, giving your digestive system 4+ hours in between meals to properly rest and digest, allowing your body to absorb nutrients more efficiently and keep your energy levels stable throughout the day.

Manage Stress: This can do wonders for your gut and overall well-being.

Nourish Your Microbiome: Prebiotics and probiotics can help restore balance in your gut flora. Consider fermented foods, yoghurt, and supplements.

Move Your Body: Regular movement like a short walk after meals (not just a workout) keeps things moving and promotes healthy digestion.

Bloating and GI issues are common but not normal, with the right approach, you can get back to feeling your best! ✨⁣

GINGER JUICE

I'm posting this recipe because it's the ultimate tonic to smoothe and calm your digestion and is super simple to make.

I've just published a couple of new blog posts all about bloating and GI issues during Perimenopause along with the very best diet & lifestyle adjustments to help relieve discomfort so have a read if you're suffering.

But first, here's the recipe for ginger juice 🥤

Cut up a palm-sized piece of fresh ginger & add 2 cups filtered water to a high speed blender. Blend, then strain the liquid out with a cheese cloth. Et voila.

It easily stores up to a week in the fridge. Add a few tablespoons to warm water or your morning smoothie.

Why ginger?
✅helps digestion and bloating
✅ Anti-inflammatory
✅Alleviates mile nausea
✅Helps balance blood sugar
✅Warming, particularly great for a cold January
