Upottery 2nds 2-1 University 6ths

This weekend, the second team hosted University 6ths at Glebe Park, looking to build on a great midweek performance against Ottery, which resulted in a narrow loss. The Otters went into half time with a 1-0 lead, thanks to a great header from Jacob Cob White, as well as some excellent defending from the back line. The boys continued this in the second half, with the likes of Kieran Pike, Sam Steer and Adam Retter in defence putting in a great shift to keep the Students at bay. Thanks to a well taken goal from Kieran Pike, the Otters grabbed the 2 goal cushion they were looking for in the second half and the 3 points were now in sight. The visitors did manage to unlock the stubborn Upottery defence in the second half and score the goal they were craving, however it wasn’t enough and Upottery managed to hang on to secure the victory.

W E Phillips & Sons Ltd Man Of The Match was awarded to Jake Pulman (Sponsored by TMM Services) who yet again proved to be a key player and pulled the strings in midfield from start to finish.
