Buggy Friendly!

HONITON LOCAL TOWN CIRCULAR WALK Approx. 5 miles

This is a delightful route that you can start at any point on the route!
Starting at St Michaels church, take the 1st marked footpath on the left (opposite Buttery Road) along Weatherill Avenue. Continue on Higher Brand Lane. At the end of the lane either go straight over Brand Road until you exit at Battishorne Way or cross over and divert slightly to the left to take the path through the park. Either way cross over Battishorne Way safely and take the immediate right after the bridge and continue on this tarmac footpath to Littletown Road following The Gissage (you can divert to the right along here if you prefer walking on grass). At Littletown Road turn left up the hill and then left at the railway bridge. Continue on this cycle/footpath to the Sidmouth Road and take a right. Walk over the bridge to the roundabout taking time to cross the road at the pedestrian traffic lights. Take a left onto Beggars Lane and walk to Marks & Spencers (taking care to cross the Exeter Road), and take an immediate right after the car wash onto Turks lane which is a lovely track which brings you to Ottery Moor Lane. At St Rita’s you can return to the Exeter Road by taking a right or take a left here and follow the path until you exit at Oaklea just behind The Beehive on Dowell Street. (This stretch can be a bit muddy if wet). You can continue here to All Hallows playing field by taking a left onto Dowell Street and the 1st right into St Cyres Road (OR take a right here to the High Street.) Exit All Hallows at Silver Street up to the High Street. Return to St Michael's church by walking up New Street past the library and train station and continue up Church Hill.

Hope you enjoy this walk!

There is also a buggy/tricycle friendly path from Hayne Lane, near the Coombe Farm shop, right up to the Sidmouth Road. Then if you cross over the Sidmouth Road, this footpath/cycle path continues beside the railway track and joins up with the footpath I mentioned before!

If you'd like to find other people to do either of these route ideas with you, then maybe you should consider joining Honiton Walkers...If you like walking in and around Honiton.
