Anti-Bullying Week 2025: Why This Matters to All of Us🐝
Our business primarily serves adults, whether through care services or recruitment. But the future of our industry, our economy, and the next generation of carers lies with today’s children.
Bullying is not a harmless rite of passage. Research shows that children who experience bullying are at greater risk of long-term mental health challenges, including depression, anxiety, and even suicidal thoughts. These effects can persist into adulthood, impacting employment prospects, income levels, and the ability to build healthy relationships. Bullying can derail a child’s emotional, mental, and physical well-being for life.
If we faced daily distress at work, we could seek support through HR, rely on protections under the Equality Act 2010 and the Human Rights Act 1998, and advocate for ourselves. Children do not have the same voice or agency. Their distress often shows up in behaviour changes or withdrawal, making it harder to spot and address.
That’s why Anti-Bullying Week 2025 (10–14 November), with the theme “Power for Good”, calls on all of us to take action—because every small act of kindness and advocacy makes a big difference.
Let’s nurture the next generation, speak up, and stand together against bullying.
Stop the Silence. Speak Up. Stand Up.💪💛
