EXETER GRIEF SUPPORT GROUP
Sunday 4 May 2,30 pm
Exeter Library, Castle Street, Exeter EX4 3PQ

Many people who have experienced a bereavement find it helpful to talk about their grief with others who are living with grief. In a grief support group, each individual is able to talk about their feelings and receive emotional support and validation from others (not therapists or counsellors).

Booking is required and to receive an invitation please email alizoun@alid.co.uk

It was lovely to be at Exeter & Devon Crematorium and Memorial Gardens yesterday, enjoying the beautiful grounds before a celebration of a long life (and well-lived!) in St Paul’s chapel. Exeter Crematorium and East Devon Crematorium at Whimple both have gorgeous grounds and are wonderful places for the birds and insects.

And Paul Shoobridge and the whole team would like to congratulate Ivor, Head Groundsman, on a remarkable achievement: 40 years of service in this much-loved and tended place.

Paul said: “Shoobridge Funeral Services has worked with Ivor since we started the business back in 1991. It’s wonderful to be able to congratulate him on this special anniversary.”

Mothering Sunday, or Mothers’ Day, means extreme joy for some of us and extreme sadness for others …

Our celebrant at Shoobridge Funeral Services, has some reflective words on our blog (click below).

May God of this wide and wonderful universe grant us a peaceful and gentle Mothering Sunday weekend, in our joy and in our sorrow.

By Abigail Price, Celebrant, Shoobridge Funeral Services One of the special times in the day for me is listening to Pause for Thought on Radio 2 at around 7.30am each morning. I’m usually busy making breakfast for the children and emptying the dishwasher. I find normal morning chores are a great b...

“Grief is a very lonely thing but, thankfully, people have put pen to paper during their own hard times and, reading their words, it doesn’t feel as lonely as before.”

Shoobridge funeral celebrant, Abigail Price, reflects on her own personal journey of grief in her latest column in the Mid Week Herald and Exmouth Journal.

In my work as a funeral celebrant, I am surrounded by death and grief.
