Adelaide Lodge is Honiton’s premiere Care Home and has been successfully caring for the elderly since it was purchased by the present partnership in 1995. It is the Care Management team’s focus on achieving the highest standards possible that have built Adelaide Lodge’s reputation as a forerunner in the provision of care for the elderly in East Devon. Adelaide Lodge is registered and accredited by

Devon County Council under the residential homes act of 1984 for 48 residents and is located in the busy, attractive market town of Honiton in picturesque East Devon. The Home is situated on the eastern edge of the town in Kings Road which is just a few minutes walk from the town centre, churches and amenities. The East Devon market town of Honiton, has a great deal to offer its many visitors, - a fascinating history, a lively atmosphere and miles of country walks for ramblers, being just a few of the many delights of the town. For centuries Honiton has been renowned for lace, pottery and glove making, and although these time honoured crafts are no longer carried out to their former extent, Honiton has numerous specialist shops dedicated to both lace and pottery. In more recent years, the town has also become the main centre in the West Country for antiques and antiquarian books. Honiton is a magnet for antique dealers and bargain hunters from all over the world, who come to browse in the 30 or so establishments, or to visit one of the regular auctions.

Our Home prides itself on offering highly professional care with a personal touch. With 44 bedrooms, many with en-suite facilities, Our Care Home offers a safe, relaxed and homely environment. Residents are made to feel as comfortable and secure as they would in their own homes, at the same time recognising their needs. While all aids are available and staff are on hand to assist where needed, the independence of the individual is encouraged and supported so that they may enjoy their daily life in secure and friendly surroundings.

We were full of peddle power at Sunningdale House today. With determination and focuse the Residents had a marvellous time having a go using the foot or hand mini cycle. We had a great laugh, reminiscing about cycling in our youth, the places we travelled to by cycle and how invigorating this form of transport was at the time. Not only did we have an exercise session, we shared special stories and moments. So, so lovely ! 🚲💖

This morning at Adelaide we had Sax Yvonne who played a selection of well-known and much-loved tunes, creating a warm and relaxing atmosphere throughout the home. The soothing sound of the saxophone was enjoyed by all, with many residents smiling, tapping their feet, and singing along to familiar melodies.
We would like to thank Yvonne for bringing such joy to our home. Her performance was greatly appreciated, and we look forward to welcoming her again in the future.
