📢 Weight-Loss Medication Update: Mounjaro (Tirzepatide) 📢

You may have seen recent news about Mounjaro, a new injectable weight-loss medication now being introduced in some GP practices across the UK.

👉 Important for Kirklees Patients:
West Yorkshire Integrated Care Board (ICB) has not yet rolled this out to GP practices in our area. Once Mounjaro becomes available locally, eligible patients will be contacted directly by their GP practice or the NHS. There’s no need to contact your GP at this time.

⚠️ Key Points:

Mounjaro is being introduced gradually and is only available to a limited number of patients in the first year.

Strict eligibility criteria apply, including:

BMI of 40 or more

At least four serious weight-related health conditions

This phased rollout follows guidance from the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE).

We’ll keep you updated as more information becomes available.
