Let’s make it part of routine patient care

Last week we were asked to provide a hearing education and training session with care staff and management team at Caremark - Kirklees based in Huddersfield.

Why Hearing Care Matters in Care
• Undetected hearing loss can lead to:
• Social isolation
• Depression and anxiety
• Cognitive decline (including higher dementia risk)
• Miscommunication with staff
• Reduced quality of life

Our training session included lots of information on
-Signs of hearing loss
-Effective communication tactics with patients
-Management of hearing devices including insertion/removal
-Detection and assessment of faulty devices
-Hands on demonstrations of device management
-Signs and symptoms of ear conditions
-Quick-reference guides and checklists for caregivers
