Our fabulous chair person Sara on National Forces Day

“I’m proud to have spent a day at one of my safe haven’s, Bexley Wing St James hospital. I’m disappointed that I couldn’t make it to London to meet our health minister- fighting for much needed funds for cancer patients in Yorkshire, but I can’t compete with transport strikes.

It’s an honour to sit on the “Living with and Beyond Cancer Steering Group”. What’s also a joy is working with Lisa who was my MacMillan nurse back in the day. Little did we know that she would also get breast cancer. Through it all we have remained great colleagues and friends. Certainly a day to celebrate. Where would we be without our NHS?”

How amazing is Sam 🥰

Sam will be walking 28 different journeys all taken from the book Peak District Outstanding Walks. These range from 3.5 miles to 11.5 miles and will involve risky terrain and steep hills. Eleven walks now completed 😊

Tickets are subsidised for My members and volunteers to £12 and should you wish to bring one friend or family member with you these tickets are £15.

We had an amazing day sewing hygiene bags for the Women’s Institute Dental Health Matters campaign. A huge thank you to the facilitators Lynne and Julie and to everyone who either took part or donated. A total of 70 bags were made and £50 was raised for My Breast Cancer Support too. 😬
