Meningitis Cases in Kent – Important Patient Information
We understand that hearing about meningitis can be worrying. Cases linked to Kent are currently localised and being managed by health teams.
✔️ Key things to know:
There are no changes to the vaccine programme
Most young people already have protection from routine vaccines
Close contacts will be contacted directly – no need to request antibiotics
⚠️ Know the symptoms – act fast:
Rash that doesn’t fade
High temperature
Severe headache, stiff neck, vomiting
Cold hands/feet or confusion
