💚 Easy INNER (medial) knee pain rescue 💚

This morning, I woke up with that pain. (Joy of hypermobility). Oh dear, I need to be up and well for today adventures. So what's next?...

The muscle that gets usually tight is outside of the thigh (lateral quad). Don't be surpriced that you treat the tissue on the other side of the pain. It's easy to release that:

✅️ Warm it up. (gel pack, hot water bottle, shower)
✅️ Palpate outter side area of the upper leg. When you find some tight spot just stay there for 8-12 sec up to 3 times.
✅️ If you were given exercises for streghening you foot arch that's a big help. (Those with scranching a towel with your foot.) Just need to remember to do them.

My pain is gone for now.

I see runs aren't always just to get fit. They are to show you are stronger than what life have put you through. It's to show and help others that there is a hope at the end of dark times.

Do I need a help with my body? Of course—I have a favourite practitioner (I go at least once a month).

Honestly, aside from that, the same self-care practices and exercises that I recommend to you, help me to relieve the pain and tension.

I believe the body has an incredible ability to heal to a realistic extent when given the right conditions. Self-care helps create those conditions.

One of the real benefits of massage treatment is learning how to manage with issues yourself.

We all agree that hypermobility needs strengthening to stabilise weaker joints. Does anyone feel sometimes like an overcooked chicken wing on the edge of falling apart? 😊

✅️ On the other hand, massage can release tight tissue that is compensating for or inhibited weaker muscle. Tight muscles don't allow those weaker ones to act properly during exercises.

Massage, it's like dealing with over-helpful person who tries to do all jobs by themselves leaving others too weak and relaxed.

✅️ massage therapy is also a really nice experience that has a positive impact on our mood and perception of our own body.

✅️ obviously, there is always much more that just hypemobilty when connecting with the person, so treatment takes everything into account. That is why taking care of your body is so fascinating.

I really want to share with you about our own attitude towards physical discomfort.

Let’s see—what do we say to ourselves when we are in pain?
Do we say, “My body is broken; it doesn’t work well”? Do we catastrophise the situation?

I hope you find yourself surrounding yourself with positive words.

I’m practising, at the moment, wrapping myself in positive thoughts every evening while waiting (2 months more) for a diagnosis of my breathing. It really, really helps.

(I might skip that it’s the psychological component of the biopsychosocial model in clinical massage… 🤓)
