🚨🚨🚨 I N F O R M A T I O N P O S T 🚨🚨🚨

This post is not scare, but to provide information.

Our client journey….

37 year old lady with light skin and no history of sun bed use and not a sun enthusiast. Attended clinic with history of new freckle on her toe, not noticed it before.

Suspected to have had it for at least two months, but ultimately goal of consultation was assessment and removal via cryotherapy. No other symptoms of itching, bleeding.

After looking at the “freckle” under projection it became clear we were seeing some red flags
🚩 New freckle
🚩 Asymmetrical (both half’s are not mirror image)
🚩 Variation of colour
🚩 Irregular border

At KKMedical we have under taken specific skin training and recognise that this needed further examination as an atypical mole: This was done through a service we are a partner clinic to “Map my Mole”.

We sent relevant information and images across for further examination and opinion by a consultant dermatologist. This was done at 10:56am and received a full report back by 20:17 same day where we had confirmation that it was a globular- atypical networked pigmentation lesion that needed urgent action as cancer could not be excluded/highly likely.

With this report in hand our client was able to provide this to the GP next day and by 10am had an appointment scheduled via the 2 week wait pathway to dermatology for a few days time.

Whilst in the first instance we do suggest to our clients to contact their GP which is free through the NHS, we do also make them aware of this service that can help fast track an opinion and the process if concerns are raised.

What was the benefits of using this service (chargeable) compared to GP for initial assessment for this client :

✅ No need to wait for a rare GP appointment.
