Chris has been making the most of his recent sessions at Sunnyside after being shown around the new opportunities on offer, including the workshop, mini farm storage area, and bakery. In October, he took part in a bonfire session and tried his hand at wood chopping, which he thoroughly enjoyed. The visit ended with a relaxed coffee and a chat with the team, rounding off a rewarding and engaging day. 🪵🔥

Chris was out in the town to enjoy a coffee when suddenly... a bunny appeared! Turns out it's owner was taking it on a walk - and was happy to let Chris stroke and hold the bunny! He later said it was a lovely experience. What a hoppy day! 😁🐰

On a cold and rainy day, staff offered Chloe a choice of indoor activities: bracelet making or stamp printing. She chose the stamps and was given a paper pad to work with. Chloe independently created her own stamped artwork, giggling throughout and clearly enjoying herself. After about fifteen minutes, she pushed the stamp box away to show she was finished and looked pleased with her picture.

Even on a stay-at-home day, Chloe remained engaged, creative and happy. 🎨🧑‍🎨

We had a little hiccup this afternoon when our scheduled singing entertainer had to cancel last-minute… but the show must go on,!!

Without hesitation, our amazing Care Home Manager Hazel stepped in, grabbed the microphone, and became the star of the day!

What followed was pure magic — residents clapping, singing along, smiling from ear to ear. The room was filled with laughter, music, and so much joy. It’s moments like these that remind us how special our community truly is.

A huge thank you to our wonderful manager for turning a potential disappointment into a memorable and uplifting afternoon for everyone.

The sessions are perfect for building strength, improving mobility, and most importantly—having fun together.

We’re so proud to share that our very own Isabel from Thimbleby Court Care Home has won the “Above and Beyond” Award at the Glenholme Care Awards in Windsor last week!

Isabel’s dedication, compassion, and willingness to go the extra mile for our residents truly shine every single day — this award couldn’t be more deserved.

A huge congratulations also to Sue (Senior Carer), Jackie (Head Housekeeper), Ellie (Activities Coordinator), and Hazel (Manager), who were all nominated for awards this year!

This morning, a group of our residents took a very special trip into Horncastle to take part in the Remembrance Day service.

Over the past few weeks, our residents have been busy knitting poppies . Together, these beautiful poppies were made into a stunning handmade wreath, which our residents proudly laid at the war memorial to honour all those who have served and sacrificed for our country.

After the service, everyone enjoyed a well-deserved cup of coffee at The Rodney Hotel, enjoying shared memories before returning home. ☕🍰

Our residents enjoyed a wonderful trip into Horncastle. We spent some peaceful time by the water feeding the ducks followed by a visit to Myers Bakery for a well-earned cup of tea and a delicious slice of cake.

It’s these simple moments that mean so much — good company, fresh air, and a sweet treat to finish the day.

Our residents had a sparkling evening watching the fantastic fireworks display from the comfort of our home! The wonderful show next door was beautifully put on by the Horncastle Lions, and it lit up the night sky with colour and excitement. 🌟

To make the evening even more special, some of our residents joined in the fun with their own sparklers

What a spooktacular time we had at our Halloween party last week! 👻 Our residents, staff, and visitors all got into the spirit with costumes, decorations, and plenty of treats (and just a few tricks 😉).

The highlight of the day was our Fancy Dress Competition, with everyone showing off their creative outfits. Congratulations to our winners, and a huge thank you to everyone who joined in the fun and made it such a memorable evening.

It was wonderful to see so many smiles, laughter, and community spirit throughout the home. ❤️
