LIVES WHATEVER IT IS. WHATEVER YOU NEED. WE’VE GOT YOU. A commitment to saving life, whatever it takes. That’s what unites all our Emergency Responders. This isn’t a job.

Lincolnshire’s Integrated Voluntary Emergency Service: Delivering rapid, life-saving first response care for 999 emergencies across Lincolnshire through our network of Community First Responders. Whether they’re providing rapid first response support on their doorstep, or highly specialised medical interventions around the clock and across the county. It’s what they do. This is a life choice, that all LIVES’ volunteers share. Our charity provides expert skills through responding to a 999 call. We provide expert training. We fundraise. We are there when you need us most. www.LIVES.org.uk

🎁 Secret Santa, sorted — and lives saved instead.

Rather than exchanging gifts at Christmas, the team at Masons & Partners in Louth chose to give something far more meaningful, donating £250 to LIVES through their Secret Santa.

Today, staff met with the LIVES team to officially hand over their generous donation — and we’re incredibly grateful 💛

They’re also supporting us by selling raffle tickets, so if you’re out and about in Louth, pop in and get involved… or grab yours online here 👉 https://go.rallyup.com/livesspringraffle2026/

“This is an incredibly impressive system for supporting the people of Lincolnshire…allowing them to stay at home, as well as dealing with major emergencies.” — Sir Chris Whitty

Professor Sir Chris Whitty visits LIVES to explore rural emergency care

We were honoured to welcome Sir Chris Whitty, England’s Chief Medical Officer, to LIVES to see first-hand how our charity supports rural emergency care in Lincolnshire. During his visit, Sir Chris met with the team to learn more about the impact and challenges of delivering life-saving care across a county with long travel distances and dispersed communities.

From our Community First Responders to Critical Care Responders, to our unique Community Emergency Medicine Service, LIVES brings vital clinical skills and reassurance directly to patients — often before an ambulance arrives and helping many avoid unnecessary hospital admissions.

Thank you to Sir Chris for joining us and recognising the value of community-based emergency care. Learn more about the visit and our work 👉 https://www.lives.org.uk/chris-whitty-visits-lives-to-explore-rural-emergency-care/

In 2025, LIVES volunteers continued to deliver vital emergency care across Lincolnshire, responding with professionalism, dedication and compassion when every second mattered.

Throughout the year:

⏩ 3,027 emergency deployments were made
📍 Our volunteers were on scene at 2,520 incidents, providing immediate care before the arrival of other emergency services
⏱️ Across the county, 68% of the time we were first on scene
❤️ Our Community First Responders arrived first in 76% of cases, delivering crucial early intervention that supports better patient outcomes

During 2025, we also:

💓 Attended 198 cardiac arrests — where early care can be the difference between life and death
Saw breathing difficulties, cardiac arrest and chest pain as the most common emergency categories
📅 Responded most frequently in May, our busiest month of the year

Our Critical Care Responders provided advanced clinical support at 346 incidents, including:
🏥 73 patient escorts to hospital to ensure continuity of advanced care
🚨 115 critical care interventions delivered where they were needed most

Behind every one of these figures is something far more powerful: people.

In total, LIVES volunteers gave 41,069 hours and 53 minutes of their time being available and responding to emergencies across Lincolnshire, often at short notice, often in challenging circumstances, and always with the same commitment to patient care.

This life-saving work is only possible because of our volunteers, and the continued support of the people of Lincolnshire who value and enable it.

To every volunteer who gave their time, skill and compassion in 2025, thank you. Your dedication embodies our mission to be there for our communities when it matters most.

And to everyone who supports LIVES, through donations, fundraising, volunteering or advocacy, thank you. Your support makes this essential emergency care possible.

We will continue to be there when we’re needed most. But we can only do this together.

👏 Brilliant to see students gaining life-saving skills.

Over the last few days, students at Boston College UK took part in hands-on first aid and CPR sessions delivered by LIVES, alongside the Lincolnshire Road Safety Partnership.

Across two days, 107 students learned vital bystander CPR skills – including airway management and defibrillator use – building confidence to act in an emergency.

That’s 107 more people in our communities with the knowledge and know-how to help save lives.

A huge well done to everyone involved.

🥊 Thank you, Boxfit Buddies! 🥊

We’d like to say a huge thank you to the Boxfit Buddies – an amazing group of friends who meet once a week to stay active and enjoy a good chat, supporting both their physical and mental health.

In December, the group kindly chose to donate their monthly contributions to LIVES, helping us continue to provide life-saving emergency care in local communities.

Tom and Julie, Community First Responders in South Holland, were pleased to accept the donation, alongside Annie, who is a member of the group and a Community First Responder with LIVES.

What makes this donation especially meaningful is that Annie was once sent to one of the group’s own members during a medical emergency, a powerful reminder of how quickly lives can be affected, and why prevention, fitness and strong communities matter so much.

At just £5 a month, Boxfit Buddies keep fitness affordable and inclusive. If you’re part of a fitness group and would like to support a local life-saving charity, we’d love to hear from you 💪

We just wanted to say a huge thank you to Lee!

On Boxing Day, Lee ran an incredible 50.18km ultra marathon in 7:20:59, raising an amazing £1,300 for LIVES. Having never run more than 25km in training, Lee described the challenge as a pleasure, even heading out for another run the next day, with the first 45km feeling spot on and the final 5km “close to torture that the CIA would have been proud of 😂”.

Lee was inspired to fundraise after witnessing the work of LIVES first-hand when he came across a fatal road traffic collision in 2022. His determination to help ensure LIVES can continue delivering essential, life-saving care across Lincolnshire makes this achievement even more meaningful.

Thank you, Lee, for going above and beyond to support our teams 👏

Our Story

LIVES is a charity supporting an army of highly trained and dedicated volunteer Medics and Community First Responders, living in communities across Greater Lincolnshire. Our volunteers get to members of their local community fast to administer vital emergency care before handing over to the ambulance service. A community based LIVES Responder could be the difference between life or death.

Our highly trained volunteer Community First Responders and medics are exactly that – volunteers. They are everyday people who give their free time to attending 999 medical emergencies within their local community. They are there for thousands of people each year and their actions save lives. To keep our volunteers on the road, we need to raise over £1.4 million each year from public donations.

Help us save lives in Lincolnshire.
