True or False?

Avoiding difficult conversations is better for your mental health.

FALSE ❌

While it might feel easier in the moment, avoidance can increase anxiety and stress. Healthy, supportive conversations, at the right time, can make a real difference.

Mental health first aid is about listening, understanding, and supporting 💙

Did you know?
During a nosebleed, you should lean forward, not tilt your head back.

Tilting back can cause blood to run into the throat, which may lead to choking or vomiting.

Instead, pinch the soft part of the nose and lean forward until the bleeding stops.

Simple first aid makes a big difference 💙

True or False?

You should remove contact lenses from someone with a chemical splash to the eye while rinsing.

TRUE

If it’s easy to do, gently remove contact lenses while flushing the eye with clean water. This helps the water reach the eye properly and reduces further irritation.

Don’t waste time forcing a lens out! Prioritise flushing the eye with water for 15-20 minutes and seek emergency medical help.

It’s great to hear the course was engaging, clear, and informative — exactly how first aid learning should be.

Did you know?

If someone is unconscious but breathing, placing them in the recovery position helps keep their airway open and reduces the risk of choking.

It’s a simple position, but it can be lifesaving while you wait for emergency help.

Always call 999 and continue to monitor their breathing.

Small actions can make a big difference. 💙
