Funeral Announcement:

Shirley May Harland, passed away suddenly but peacefully on 9th January 2026, aged 88. Reunited with beloved husband Arthur. Dearly loved mum, grandma and great grandma.

Funeral service at St Augustine's Church Skirlaugh on Wednesday 4th February at 10.30 followed by burial in the cemetery. Family flowers only please, but donations may be left at the church for Dove House Hospice.

Funeral Announcement:

Maureen Margaret Hewson, passed away peacefully at home on 10th January 2026, aged 81 years. Dearly loved wife of Peter, much loved mum, grandma and great grandma.
A short funeral service to take place at Holy Trinity Church, Leven on Wednesday 28th January at 2.30pm followed by a private service at the Haltemprice Crematorium, Willerby. Family flowers only please, but donations can be left at the church for Cancer Research UK and the Holy Trinity church coffee morning group. No black clothing by Maureen's request please.

Mark will be running the Hardmoors 30 tomorrow morning at 8am, starting at Robin Hoods Bay! Unfortunately there is no tracking link with this race. Huge thank you to all the donations so far!

This one is very close to my heart…The dogs trust and Oakwood dog rescue. They give unconditional love and ask for nothing in return.
Out on the trails with my Grand dog Russo..if I only had his energy.

As the year draws to a close, it’s common to think of the people who are special to us – especially those we've lost. That’s why we’ve chosen to take part in Light a Candle.

From 15 to 21 December we’ll be posting digital candles in memory of those who can’t be with us during the festive season. If you’d like to create a virtual candle, please click the following link where you can choose a design and write a short message to a loved one.
