I didn’t create this because I’m an expert.

I created it because I was stuck.

I knew smoking wasn’t good for me.
I knew it was a coping mechanism.
But knowing that didn’t stop the cravings.

What I realised was this:

It was a nervous system response.

Yesterday’s New Moon (17 Feb 2026) also ushered in Chinese / Lunar New Year, which always feels like the real “new year” to me.

It’s the second new moon after the Winter Solstice, the point where we’re beginning to move away from the deep winter energy and slowly emerge, just like nature does. Less hibernation… more stirring. More readiness. 

And this year is the Year of the Horse (the Fire Horse, to be exact). 

So here’s the way I’m holding this new year…

Greet it like you would a horse.
Not with force. Not with panic. Not by yanking the reins and demanding it take off.

But grounded. Calm. Respectful.
Spend time bonding. Let trust build. Let your body know it’s safe.

Because when the horse feels safe with you…
off you go. And it can take you on a truly magical ride.

At this point in the year, it’s not quite time to be pouring every ounce of yourself into the “newness.” It’s time to make sure your nervous system is steady.

This is the prep:
• breathe (properly, not just “remembering” to breathe)
• give your mind space with daily meditation
• regulate your emotions before the ride
• listen to the body when it whispers… so it doesn’t have to shout

Back pain + anxiety can become a feedback loop:
your nervous system stays on alert → your back braces → pain increases → anxiety spikes.

Here’s a 2-minute reset to interrupt the pattern:

1) Feet on the floor. Press down.
2) Inhale 4, exhale 6 x 4 rounds.
3) Hand on lower back + heart:
“I’m safe enough right now. I don’t have to brace.”
4) Tap collarbone points:
“Even though I’m tense and anxious, I’m open to my body softening.”
5) Ask: “What’s my next kind step?”

Save this for the moment your back starts tightening.

I’m now offering a new signature session called Pain & Pattern Reset, a 90 minute mind/body/energy session designed to help you shift pain, release emotional blocks, and change the patterns that keep you stuck.

If you’ve been feeling:
• tense or holding stress in your body

We’re coming up to a Full Moon this Sunday (1 Feb), a beautiful point of completion. Full moons tend to shine a light on what’s been brewing under the surface… and your body/mind will often tell the truth first. 

So if you’ve noticed:
• reoccurring thoughts about a certain situation
• feeling more reactive / emotional / “on edge”
• a new pain… or an old pain resurfacing

…please know this: if something is coming up in your body or your mind, it’s asking for your attention. Not to punish you, to be felt, listened to, and processed.

And this is especially potent right now because we’re moving towards February’s New Moon (17 Feb), a fresh chapter moment. The work now is about releasing what you’re ready to outgrow, so you’re not carrying old identities and beliefs into the next cycle. 

Here’s a very simple process I use to start shifting pain and emotions (10–15 minutes).
(Gentle note: this isn’t medical advice, if you have severe or persistent pain, please get it checked.)



Full Moon Release Practice (10–15 mins)

1) Settle

Sit/lie somewhere you won’t be interrupted. Close your eyes.
Bring your awareness to your breath, just noticing it flowing in and out.

2) Find the “where”

Now scan your body slowly and ask:
“Where am I holding this?”
You might notice a tight chest, a lump in the throat, a clenched jaw, heaviness in the belly… or a specific painful spot.

Place one hand there (or imagine your hand there if it’s tender).

3) Name it (without judging it)

Quietly label what you’re noticing, as simply as possible:
• For pain: “tight / sharp / burning / heavy / pulling…”
• For emotion: “sad / angry / anxious / overwhelmed / stuck…”

Then rate it 0–10 (0 = nothing, 10 = intense).

4) Let it speak (this is the key)

Ask gently (and wait for the first honest answer):
• “What do you want me to know?”
• “What are you protecting me from?”
• “When have I felt this before?”

No forcing. No digging. Just listening.

5) EFT tapping to start shifting (2–5 mins)

Using two fingers, tap lightly through these points (about 6–8 taps each), while repeating what’s true:

Karate chop point (side of hand) Setup phrase (say 3 times):

“Even though I’m feeling [this pain/emotion] in my [body area], I’m open to giving myself what I need right now.”

Then tap through:
• Eyebrow: “This [pain/emotion]…”
• Side of eye: “It’s been coming up a lot…”
• Under eye: “My body is trying to get my attention…”
• Under nose: “I’m listening now…”
• Chin: “I don’t have to fight this…”
• Collarbone: “I can soften around it…”
• Under arm: “It’s safe to feel this in small pieces…”
• Top of head: “I’m open to release.”

Take a breath. Re-rate 0–10.
If it’s still high, do one more round, but shift the language to:
“I’m allowed to let some of this go.”

6) Close the loop (1–2 mins)

Place a hand on your heart (or wherever feels supportive) and say:
• “Thank you for trying to protect me.”
• “I’m here now.”
• “What do you need from me next — rest, water, movement, truth, support?”

Then write one sentence to anchor it:
“What I’m releasing this Full Moon is…”
“What I’m choosing to step into by the New Moon is…”

Lately, I’ve been feeling like I’m rushing…

Rushing to make everything work.
Rushing to get results.
Rushing to figure it all out; the money, the energy, the next steps.

And underneath that rushing, there’s been fear.

Fear that if I don’t keep pushing, everything will fall apart.
Fear that I’m not doing enough.
Fear that maybe it’s not going to work out.

But as we shift into this winter season, I’ve been reminded of something:
Nature is slowing down. The light is fading. Everything is pulling inward.
And we’re meant to slow down too.

But that’s not always easy, especially when our nervous systems are used to stress and pressure and constant doing.

So I’m choosing to do something gentle.

I’ve created a 7 day energetic grounding practice, not to force manifestations, not to hustle harder, but to help my body feel safe, held, and open again.

Because alignment and abundance don’t come from panic, they come from presence.

They come when we create enough stillness to receive.

If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or like nothing is moving fast enough… this is your reminder that you don’t have to fix it all today.

You are allowed to rest.
You are allowed to trust.
You are allowed to create from a place of calm.

Below is the EFT tapping sequence I’m doing right now to help settle the urgency and reconnect to trust. You’re welcome to try it too.

EFT Sequence – Releasing Rushing & Returning to Calm Receiving

Theme: Letting go of fear driven hustle and softening into seasonal rest, trust, and support.

Setup (tap side of hand – 3x)

“Even though I’ve been rushing and pushing from fear, I deeply and completely love and accept myself.”

“Even though it’s hard to slow down, I honour the part of me that wants to feel safe.”

“Even though I’m afraid I’ll lose momentum if I stop, I’m open to trusting a gentler rhythm.”

Round 1 — Releasing urgency

Eyebrow:

I’ve been rushing to keep everything going.

Side of Eye:

I’m scared of what will happen if I slow down.

Under Eye:

This pressure lives deep in my body.

Under Nose:

It feels like I can’t stop or rest.

Chin:

But it’s so exhausting to always be “on.”

Collarbone:

I acknowledge how hard I’ve been trying.

Under Arm:

I’m holding fear, but I’m also holding love.

Top of Head:

I give myself permission to slow down now.

Round 2 — Inviting seasonal calm and trust

Eyebrow:

Nature is slowing down, and so can I.

Side of Eye:

It’s safe to rest. It’s safe to receive.

Under Eye:

I don’t have to do more to deserve abundance.

Under Nose:

I am safe to pause without falling behind.

Chin:

Trust can grow in stillness.

Collarbone:

I let my body soften into this new season.

Under Arm:

I am allowed to feel safe, supported, and provided for.

Top of Head:

I choose to receive in a calmer, more grounded way.

Close (hand on heart or belly)

“Even when I feel afraid, I can return to trust.
Even in the quiet, life is still supporting me.
I choose to soften. I choose to receive. I choose to trust.”

Now that I’ve stepped away from running the pub and am focusing on the cafe and my massage work, I’ve finally got a bit more breathing space. It’s made me realise how much I’d like to start sharing some of the things that really help me day to day.

One of my absolute favourites is EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) or tapping. It’s such a simple little tool, but it’s helped me so much to stay grounded, let go of stress and just feel a bit more like myself when life gets busy.

Today I wanted to share one of my go-to affirmations and an EFT sequence that I’ve been using alongside it as shown in the pics below. Feel free to save them to your phone and read the affirmation or do the tapping sequence when you can.
