We’re in the grip of a heart care crisis.

Hundreds of thousands of people are waiting too long for potentially life-saving heart care in many parts of the UK. Long waits put people at a higher risk of avoidable heart attacks, heart failure and even premature death.

We’ve seen some progress, but it’s not enough. Only with more protection, more focus and more research breakthroughs can we give people hope for a brighter, healthier future.

We’re calling on all political parties in Westminster to prioritise heart disease now.

LET’S TALK MEN!!

Today was heartbreaking for me to hear that, even though I taught seven guys the importance of exposing a woman’s chest and applying the defibrillator during cardiac arrest. They still felt uncomfortable and weren’t sure if they would expose a woman’s b***s in public for fear of being accused of sexual assault. The amount of times I’ve heard from lovely guys, that they’ve tried to help somebody, they’ve been sworn at and told they’re pervert, for just trying to help somebody is horrendous.

Women please let’s reassure men that if we are in cardiac arrest, we want them to get our b***s out and put that defibrillator on. Men you have the SARAH act to protect so please always help us, you’re saving our lives and I promise you will receive nothing but praise from me, if I get to go to home to my little boys.

TO ALL WOMEN LET’S REASSURE MEN THAT WE CONSENT IF WE ARE DYING!

Wouldn’t it be fantastic if we had this in the UK. In Denmark alone out of hospital cardiac arrest survival is as much as 60% and in the UK it’s between 8-12%. The more people who know CPR the better.

We are happy to introduce 'Learn to Drive, Learn CPR' an incredible collaboration between the European Resuscitation Council (ERC) and the European Driving Schools Association (EFA) to empower young drivers and save lives! 💚 Our survey revealed that in 44% of European countries, citizens are required to undergo BLS courses for certain driving licenses. 💚

Have you ever thought of a bra as being a barrier?

For most wearers, it’s a functional item with a supportive, uplifting purpose, or even a fashion item … but a barrier?

If it’s left on during a life-saving attempt at using a defibrillator, your bra could be a barrier to life! Spread the word: when it comes to saving your life, all barriers - including bras - should be taken away!

I love using this video in training....

If I'm a little short on time or the delegates are really switched I often show this video about how to do chest compressions and the importance of each element to it.

So much research goes into this life saving technique so we can deliver it effectively and save the lives of the ones we love. I fine it fascinating all the parts to the process and why it works....

Why the push as well as the release are so important and that rhythm. "Stayin Alive Stayin Alive" 100-120 beats has to be maintained.

If we can do this effectively we have a fighting chance of survival.
