Over the past few weeks in classes we’ve been exploring Chakra Kundalini Meditation, and many students have shared how difficult it was to keep the mind focussed.

It reminded me of this image from Raja Yoga of Swami Vivekananda: “The mind is like a drunken monkey, stung by a scorpion and possessed by a demon.”

Why a monkey? 🙉

Because the mind is naturally restless like a monkey.

Then, after a drink, it becomes intoxicated with desires.

A sting of jealousy makes it jump even more.

And a touch of pride joins the party.

No wonder it’s hard to sit still 😊.

Yoga doesn’t quiet the monkey mind overnight. But through consistent practice — breath, movement, and meditation — it slowly begins to settle. 🐒🙏🏻💕

✨ Primary Series of Ashtanga Vinyasa Workshop – 7 March, Saturday 10:30-13:00 ✨

Join our founder, Senior Yoga Teacher Irina Pashkevich, for a focussed exploration of Yoga Chikitsa (Primary Series of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga), working through the sequences from Navasana to Setu Bandhasana.

We’ll refine alignment and vinyasa technique, understand the structure of this part of the Series, and build strength, stability, and confidence as the practice deepens.
