There was a time when gratitude felt impossible for
me. When it felt forced, and like I wasn't doing it right.
I had heard about the law of attraction, that like attracts like. And that what I could think I could tangibly have?
And the best way to start was by being grateful for what I already had.
So, I started writing every morning in my journal 10 things that I was grateful for. And it felt good! But was it working?
Years later, it finally clicked. What I was doing was the act of acknowledging I was grateful. But what I wasn't doing was FEELING it.
THAT WAS IT! The feeling! Actually feeling it. So, to help me find that feeling, I found something in my life that I was truly grateful for. Something that I felt in my heart.
For me, I felt truly grateful for giving up smoking. That was something that meant so much to me, and I fully felt the gratitude.
Since then, I now get it :)
