Interest in Functional Yoga Movement, Yoga Therapy and Yoga Nidra - The Art of Transformational Sleep I have been practising yoga for almost 20 years and teaching Hatha Yoga now for 16 years , I'm a Yoga Registered Teacher (YRT -200hrs) with the Independent Yoga Network and am qualified with The British School of Yoga. I also hold a British Wheel of Yoga Foundation Course Certificate and am fully
insured. My background is in Occupational Therapy where I specialised in Mental Health, however I left the NHS after fighting lymphatic cancer in my 20's twice, to re-train as a yoga teacher. Yoga supported me so much through this challenging illness, which was the single most humbling thing that has ever happened to me . I wanted to make Yoga a permanent part of my life and inspire others to do so. I have experience of supervising student -teachers, and in recent years, have been a contact teacher for The Yoga Alliance. Since teaching, three of my past students have become qualified yoga teachers themselves with classes of their own. In addition to community classes , I have taught in corporate offices - Barr Soft Drinks , I've also been involved in Community based Summer projects for children providing weekly classes ( Westhoughton council) . Past clients- Bolton school ( children's yoga to leavers Year 6s) and Croft House Childrens Nursery. I'm currently teaching staff at Gaskell Primary school Bolton. I have experience of teaching yoga to those with disabilities and currently teach clients with cerebral palsy, Parkinson's disease and MS in my mainstream classes. I am also a qualified Nutritional Adviser, Reiki Master Practitioner and a busy Mum of two young girls. Flowing Hatha Yoga Classes for all, beginners especially welcome. Classes interweave the 8 limbs of Yoga and include postures with easy, flowing sequences (vinyasas), breathing practise, relaxation and meditation. Please bring your own yoga mat and blanket for the relaxation at the end of class, and wear comfortable unrestrictive clothing. I have some mats I can also lend out, and all equipment. Welcoming, fun and relaxing classes taught by one of the most experienced teachers in the area. You do not have to be bendy to begin, just start from where you are, all poses can be modified to suit. I teach from a place of "Ahimsa" (non-harm, safety), there are no judgements, expectations or competition in yoga. All postures and modifications are taught safely with a sensible approach where we move mindfully with emphasis on "feeling" with awareness. From Mid September
