Last weekend at Scruton House, we kicked off Glow & Ground with Calm herbal welcome tea & cozy snacks, then settled into nature-connected movement & mindfulness with Arlete—turning first-meeting nerves into calm connection. Dotty’s mindfulness talk wrapped everyone in warmth, making us all feel relaxed, welcomed, and safe.

Upstairs, Arlete guided us through crafting autumn gonks tic-tac-toe boards, and we dove headfirst into the playful mess—paints, markers, tiny pumpkins strewn everywhere. Fresh blooms donated by our local florist scattered color and gratitude across the table.
We closed the day melting into the red-light therapy bed’s gentle glow, drifting into pure, radiant rest.

The real goal? Soothing your nervous system and finding calm—no extra bells and whistles required. Here are 4 simple ways to cut through the noise today:

✨️30-Second Reset

• Pause, place a hand on your heart, and breathe deeply for five counts.

• Instant signal to your body that it’s safe to drop tension.

✨️Sensory Anchor

• Choose one small ritual: the smell of rosemary, a cool washcloth on your face, or a grounding sentence (“I’m here, I’m okay”).

• Repeat it whenever the contradictions start whispering.

✨️Gentle Movement

• Shake out your arms, roll your shoulders, or sway to a song you love for just one minute.

• Movement—even tiny—tells your brain you’re not stuck in fight-or-flight.

✨️Nourish, Don’t Diet

• Focus on foods you truly enjoy that also feel nourishing—be it a slice of toast, a homemade broth, or some dark chocolate.

• Skip the rules. Listen to your body, not the latest trend.
