HOPS - Healing Opportunities Wellbeing Service offers quality complementary therapies and wellbeing classes . Our singing group meets in Roker once a week.

"Feel better, Stay well " Special rates for carers and those on income-related benefits. HOPS charity works in Houghton-Le-Spring offering Holistic Treatments to our members at discounted rates. We run events, and social groups, and offer a network of other carers and people living with long-term health issues. We offer an online meditation class and yoga class, with more to be announced soon.

We had wonderful session yesterday with Anna HeArts Creative Projects. These Craft and Wellbeing sessions are part of HOPS' Come Along Say Hello project - providing opportunities for discovering your inner creative and crafting lovely things whilst having a good chat and a nice cuppa.

We will be hosting Carer Drop in sessions at Pallion Action Group over the next couple of months, come along as have a chat with us!
Our next session is on Tuesday 22nd July 9.30am-12.30pm and 1.30pm-4.30pm.

Our FREE Craft & Wellbeing session is on this Thursday, 17th July as part of our 'Come Along, Say Hello!' project.

It's on from 10am-12 noon @ The Old Rectory, The Broadway, Houghton le Spring.

Anna from HeArts Creative Projects will give step by step instructions and guide you through how to make some amazing creations.

The session is open to everyone so why not come along for a chat, cuppa, biscuit and a craft? No need to book, just come along!

During the month of May, some of our carers engaged with a programme we ran with Durham Wildlife Trust - Links With Nature.

One of the sessions was working with clay, making ceramic leaf plates using pumfrey leaves and mushrooms.

Here are some photographs of the glazed pieces which they made. I can safely say they all thoroughly enjoyed the session very much.

It was a beautiful sunny day yesterday, for our Carers Connect Joint Coffee Morning and Time Out Day. We also celebrated HOPS - Healing Opportunities Wellbeing Service 17th Birthday 🎂 🥳 🎉 🎈 🎁 in the style of The Mad Hatters Tea Party.

Everyone is welcome to come along to this FREE session. It takes place Hall, Church Street, Houghton le Spring, DH4 4DN (Through the archway into the church grounds of St Michael and All Angels Church).
