Dementia doesn’t always look the way people expect. 💙

Sometimes it looks like “stubbornness”, personality changes, withdrawal, or confusion — and it’s often misunderstood.

Recognising these signs early can make a real difference for your loved one and your family. 💙

If something doesn’t feel quite right, trust that instinct — you don’t have to figure it out alone.

Visiting Angels South Middlesex are here to support you every step of the way.

🎉 Happy 5-Year Angelversary to our lovely Hazel! 👼💖

Five years ago, Hazel joined us as one of our very first Visiting Angels South Middlesex Angels — and what a journey it’s been ever since. 🌟

Over the years, Hazel has become such a special part of our South Middlesex family. Her kindness, compassion, and caring heart have touched so many lives, bringing comfort, reassurance, and smiles to the clients she supports every day. She gives so much of herself to her role, and it’s impossible not to see just how loved and appreciated she is by both clients and the team alike. 💙

Hazel, thank you for everything you’ve given over the last five years — your hard work, loyalty, and the genuine care you show every single day. We honestly couldn’t imagine the team without you, and we feel so lucky to have had you with us since the very beginning.

Here’s to celebrating an incredible milestone and to many more memories still to come! 💐✨

Dementia Action Week 2026 💙

This week is Dementia Action Week (18th – 24th May 2026), and there are lots of fantastic events taking place across the community to help raise awareness about dementia and the support available for individuals and families affected by it.

At Visiting Angels South Middlesex, we’re proud to be supporting Dementia Action Week and connecting with local organisations, families, and individuals throughout the week.

Keep an eye on our socials to see where we’ll be attending — you’ll have the opportunity to speak with members of our team about what we do and how we can support you or a loved one living with dementia.

Many wonderful organisations work tirelessly to support people affected by dementia and their families by:

Helping them access the support they need to live the lives they want
Providing a listening ear for worries and concerns
Running cafés and social events that encourage people to get out, stay connected, and feel supported

One of the main aims of Dementia Action Week is helping people remove the obstacles that stop them from enjoying life the way they want to.

We’re looking forward to a week of networking, raising awareness, and strengthening connections within our community. 💙

Can you help us reach those who are newly diagnosed and living in London, or who are in London and new to Parkinson's UK?

We are now offering a series of online sessions to reach people who are newly diagnosed, or who are new to Parkinson's UK. These one hour sessions will be run online and hosted by our London Parkinson's Local Adviser team, and will allow for you to connect with the team and find out about the support and activities available from Parkinson's UK and in your local area. There will be time for questions, and we hope it will provide an informal and friendly welcome to our community.
