Measles is highly infectious and can be passed on even before a rash appears.

The Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR) vaccination is the safest and most effective way to protect against these diseases. You need two doses of MMR to be fully protected.

If you think you or your child have measles, seek urgent medical advice before going to a healthcare setting.

This will help to stop the virus spreading.

In the first instance contact your GP practice or GP Out of Hours service. Alternatively, contact your local Phone First service for urgent advice.

Any children or young people who missed getting the vaccine first time around will have the opportunity to receive it now.
