WHY SOME PEOPLE WILL NEVER GET HEALTHY...
The truth is getting healthy, or healing yourself, can feel really uncomfortable!
In my 15 years of helping people to improve their health, Iโve noticed some common reasons why many of us struggle to do so.
Here are some of the main obstacles:
โจ A lack of self-discipline
โจ Seeking quick fixes, instead of listening to what your body is really trying to tell you
โจ Not practising true self-love
โจ Limited beliefs on what is possible for you
โจ Holding on to the past, or living in the future
โจ Adopting a victim mindset, or blaming others
โจ Unhealthy lifestyle or dietary choices
โจ Not spending enough time in nature
โจ Not moving your body enough
โจ Skipping a regular detox
โจ Avoiding emotional healing, or hiding from chronic stress and trauma
โจ Excessive alcohol or substance use
โจ Lack of access to โrealโ healthcare or a 'proper' health examination
โจ Over-reliance on medication
โจ Health & medicinal misinformation
โจ Environmental toxins and political factors
โจ And most importantly...refusing to change
Unfortunately, many of us operate in a state of chronic stress and trauma response, and weโre not even aware of it.
๐ Small Daily Choices Matter...
Itโs so easy to ignore some things that damage our health, but letโs face it:
โ Sitting inside all day isnโt healthy
โ Lying to yourself isnโt healthy
โ Phone addiction isnโt healthy
โ Sugar isnโt healthy
โ Fast, or processed, food isnโt healthy
โ Endless scrolling isn't healthy
โ Netflix wonโt actually help you relax
โ Drinking alcohol doesnโt really make your problems go away
Avoiding responsibility for our own health comes with a real cost. Your cells and organs need your full commitment to function and regenerate every single day.
๐ The Truth About Chronic Pain (That Many Donโt Want to Hear About)...
A big reason why so many of us live with chronic pain is simple:
No one has ever taught us how to use our mind and body correctly.
We werenโt shown how to: move freely, sit or stand with good posture, breathe correctly or how to process stress and emotions in a healthy way.
So we develop poor habits โ physically, mentally, and emotionally โ and over time these habits create tension, inflammation & pain in the body.
We then end up with stiff joints, tight muscles and ongoing discomfort โ and we donโt understand why.
Instead of realising this is the result of years of unhealthy patterns, we often get offended when someone points it out.
But hereโs the truth:
๐ Pain is feedback.
Itโs your bodyโs way of saying something isnโt right.
For example, during a massage if someone says,
โThat really hurts!โ โ they donโt always realise that the pain isnโt caused by the massage.
It hurts because the tissue is already inflamed, tight or damaged.
Healthy tissue won't hurt at all when pressure is applied, however when there is poor circulation, chronic tension, stored stress or unprocessed emotions present in the body, even a light touch can feel intense,
or the body can be numb to any feeling at all.
๐ Your Body Isnโt the Enemy โ Itโs Trying to Talk to You...
Pain isn't the problem. Itโs a signal.
If we can learn to listen to these signals, instead of avoiding or numbing them, we can begin to heal.
But healing requires awareness โ and sometimes, a willingness to hear some uncomfortable truths.
๐ The Fear of Change...
I know change can be scary, I'm confronting my own limitations every single day. Healing isnโt just about eating better or getting more exercise โ it often requires a shift in mindset, lifestyle, environment and relationships. Let's not forget about also regulating our nervous system.
True health means being present and dealing with any energy from the past, or stress about the future. Often we can get stuck in a loop of waiting and saying, "I donโt know what to do", but deep down, most of us know whatโs really needed. The issue is that our minds tend to self-sabotage, convincing ourselves that weโre fine the way we are โ or that change isnโt worthwhile. This is because of the conditioning we've received: "if I'm still breathing, then what's the point of changing"
Illness or tension doesnโt appear overnight, but many of us convince ourselves it does. When we are stuck in a victim mindset, itโs easy to forget what is required to heal โ because taking action feels too overwhelming.
Iโve even been blamed for someoneโs cancer diagnosis before, even though this is physically impossible. Our minds, when in pain, often look for someone to blame.
But for a moment...without blaming anyone...could you please tell me...what is damaging your health the most?
๐ Embracing Change: Your Path to Health...
I totally understand that change can feel overwhelming. Staying as you are may seem like the safer option. But the truth is, the only way to truly feel better is to step into change and embrace the discomfort, let go of old patterns and rediscover what it feels like to be truly alive.
Healing doesnโt occur after a single change โ itโs about taking consistent, small actions over & over again:
Eat whole, nutritious foods
Move your body daily
Change the way you think and approach life
Remember healing is a slow, and quite often demanding, process for your body, mind, and spirit. That's ok! Life is not an all inclusive holiday.
๐ You Get Out What You Put In...
Hereโs a reality check:
If you only give 30% effort, youโll get 30% of the results. But if you give 100%, youโll see 100% of the results. The more courage & effort you put into changing old habits, quitting a stressful job or ending toxic relationships, the more your body will release the energy it needs to heal itself.
