Meet Baby M.
Look at this little ladies amazing neck extension and how much she can lift her chin off her chest now!
She is 15 weeks old and had her posterior tongue tie released 9 days ago, the change in her body is remarkable and her parents reported a more settled baby who would now feed comfortably.
Baby M was bottle fed from Day 0 so always met her growth centiles but she always struggled with feeding issues, her parents reporting distress, back arching, straining. There is still some work to do to release some of the tension from the tie but I’m so proud of the changes we’ve made 💜

This is the lovely Dorothy who will be covering clinic for me for the next couple of weeks whilst I head to Australia to visit my brother and his family (not seen them for 4yrs!)
She is a wonderful osteopath and like me she has a special interest in treating babies and children and studies for her diploma at The Osteopathic Centre for Children.
I first met Dorothy over 10yrs ago when I was tutoring at the British School of Osteopathy where I trained too.
Bookings for Dorothy are live on the website.
I am so pleased she will be looking after things for me 💜

I have been seeing lots of ‘Mum thumb’ or De Quervains Tenosynovitis in clinic recently so I have put together a brief guide about what it is and how to help it.
-It is inflammation of the tendons on the thumb side of the wrist
-Usually due to repetitive holding and gripping or awkward wrist postures
Best thing to do is rest, modify activity and ice it. Try the exercises below gently and see how you get on.
If it still persists get in touch and we can see what else we can do to help 💜

Restocking the probiotics I keep in clinic to help the babies I see with digestive issues.
As a babies digestive system is immature at birth it takes them a while to establish their own gut bacteria.
This can be due to-
•C section
•Bottle feeding
•Antibiotics for mum during birth or soon after if breastfeeding
•Antibiotics for baby
Healthy gut bacteria = healthy digestion and less issues with gas and wind.
Probiotics alongside osteopathy for reflux and colic can be a winning combination
